Insane bud (calyx) to leaf ratio, Candy Kush

Anyone got any complaints about the leaf to bud ratio on Candy Kush? I've got 2 more seeds and don't want to grow any more like this one.

Both the Candy Kush auto and Juicy Lucy that are due to come out of my tent soon. They were under blurple unbranded COB lights for the first 6 weeks and then I swithced to a Mars Hydro SP3000 for the last 4 weeks. The JL looks amazing, thick dense buds that I hoped for when I upgraded to a Mars Hydro light but my Candy Kush has just exploded with leaf. I have defoilated about half the leaves and it still looks like the cousin IT of weed leaves, just so many leaves coming out of where bud should be coming out. It's supposed to be harvested in the next week or so but it does not look like there is a significant amount of bud on it. Just like a weeping willow style curtain of leaf. I've never seen so much leaf on a plant.

Looks like root issues that's why it's sad. And those are not ready by the looks of them kinda over watered looking.

Well exactly, it's not ready and from what you and crucialbunny are saying its overwatering. I have been too liberal with the water in a hot environment and have probably compounded the problem with innacurate diagnosis.

They look like they are languishing a bit in an overly watered medium with too much nutrient . If they were my plants I would flush them heavily, remove the yellowing leaves, and let those roots get some air for a few days with no watering. Roots need oxygen and if the medium is wet without drying out some they basically drown in soil.

cool. cheers. will follow advice given, I had dramatically increased the watering during a particularly hot period.

We all do. It's a natural tendency. If my plants look like they're having heat issues a spray of PH'd water helps cool them off. A good fan breeze is helpful as well.

The reason it's shameful is the amount of time that I have been growing for... This ain't my first rodeo, I just didn't learn as much as I should have from previous rodeos. I've been growing for probably 8-10 of the last 20 years with some breaks when I was living in places it just wasn't possible. I have never produced perfect weed, it has always suffered from one thing or another and in the summers heat is always an issue... But I have always produced some smokeable weed, sometimes with undersized calyxes, sometimes stretched and airy, sometimes over or underfertilized, but it's always worked "well enough". I was looking at my Candy Kush and seeing masses of leaf compared to bud for the stage of flowering it should be at it's obviously had some stunted development either from the individual genetic lottery, temps or overwatering. The drooping leaves which made me think underwatered rather than overwatered. I also added a shot of nutes last week because I thought they might be P defficient despite using a "hot" mix of soil under my seedling mix that should easily give enough fish blood and bone for 3 months. In this grow I'm struggling primarily with heat because it is summer and I am using a tent with a reasonable size light in a rockwool insulated shed that has no exterior ventilation. I don't want to put a vent on the shed because I also smoke in there and it's a very curtain twitchy neighbourhood. I don't want them smelling weed in their garden or one of the many police helicopters that fly overhead noticing a hot shed with hot exhaust coming out of it. I think I have moved into a house near whatever airfield the police use. I see 6 or marked police helicopters on a slow night. As a result my temps today for example are 35 celcius and it's not a particularly hot day. I think I'm going to start posting more images for more successful growers to analyze. This has been helpful.
