Hello GWE Community,
I'm looking for some advice on my first grow. It's been a learning experience all around and lots of things to improve on for next time.
I've been simultaneously growing 2 Auto Blue Diesels and 2 Photo Acapulco Gold. Both are from Sonoma Seeds, they advertise the flowering time as being 7-8 weeks on the BD and 8-9 weeks on the AG. I know the flowering times they claim are a rough estimate at best.
The plants are in a 60”x60”x80" Tent under 2 Phlizon 1000W COB LED lights (actual draw 250w per light).
Light cycle has been 18/6 - I've switched to 12/12 as of this evening.
They are in 5 gallon fabric pots with soil/perlite and watered to run off in accordance with GWE's guide.
Nutrients are GH Flora Series performance pack, following Nebula's recipe and alternating nutrients and PH'd water.
I made some rookie mistakes early on and wasn't watering to run off or monitoring PH closely enough. I suspect this led to a nutrient build up and low root PH and calcium lockout. (See past thread https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...pots-on-leaves). I learned, flushed and corrected that but by that time the BDs were well into flowering and had suffered a lot of leaf damage. They have continued to flower quite nicely, and some of the newer leaves are fine but the majority are severely discolored and dying. The AGs were and continue to be in Veg and haven't really shown any ill effects.
I've been trying to use the trichrome method to determine when to harvest the BD. My jewelers loupe isn't of great quality, but I've been checking them every few days. The trichrome heads still appear to be mostly clear to my untrained eye. These plants are now 9 weeks into flowering and there does not seem to be much happening with the plants anymore. I'm wondering if possibly the trichromes may never change due to the lack of healthy leaves to feed/mature the buds? In anticipation of harvest I stopped giving them any nutrients 3 weeks ago (thinking I'd have harvest a week or so later) but the trichromes don't seem to be changing. I've talked myself out of harvesting for the last 2 weeks.
To complicate things, the 2 AG photos are both well above 4 feet tall and I expect that as they go into flowering they will outgrow my tent, which is where they'll have to stay. I switched the light cycle to 12-12 this evening as I feel I have to put these into flowering due to space constraints. I fully intended on harvesting the BDs tonight, but I reluctantly put them back into the tent even if I know the 12-12 light cycle isn't ideal for autos.
At this point I'm not sure what to do and would appreciate any advice that can be provided. The pics are of the Autos which I'm torn on whether or not to harvest.
