    New breeder here...

    Hi folks,

Did F1 and F2 with Papaya x Permafrost, Papaya x Double Dream, and Papaya x Cheese. F1 was an accident, but when I saw my girls swelling with healthy seeds, I fell in love with the matchmaking process. Now I see one plant and I immediately imagine it in combination with another. I am a bona fide pollen chucker at this point. But this is just the beginning of my venture into finding my personal best medicine. I prefer sativa, I'm finding, but nothing aids with a long winter's nap like indica. Besides, sativa is like slow torture. Some smell ready for MONTHS before they are. Every day, growers are tormented with tropical scents and suggestions, with spices and sugary morsels, and then we see the sparkling things and it's almost too much, I tell you!

So as a breeder, here's what I'm trying to do: I want to make quick-flowering sativa plants with an emphasis on maximizing the psychedelic and cerebral impact and length of efficacy. In other words I want breed the dankest weed north of Chicago. I'm looking at Dr. Grinspoon. I know the yields are tiny with that lady, but the effect is so pure. I was doing some research, and I found a couple auto attempts with Dr. Grinspoon, although it looks to me like the essence of the plant's personality was the cost. I like weird plants. Duck-foot leaves, drool, insane smells, albinism, and attach these sought traits to a small, bushy, vigorous, stinky plant. Now make it 85% sativa and you have my dream weed. Let's talk about the realism of such a goal and possible avenues to achieving it, shall we? I will record F3 from start to finish, starting mid-August, as I'm presently moving into a new apartment.

I can't wait to get to know you guys, spending way too much time here. Raise a cheer for Her Majesty, Nebula Haze, and her boy, Sirius! Talk to you all soon. Oh, and if you want me to love you forever, post some pics of your present project. I love me some good, old-fashioned nug porn. OwO

    Mostly sincerely,
    ~ Veltir ~

Edit note: I have a friend who bred Cindy (C99) with some Brazilian landrace sativa. That stuff goes straight to the brain and starts pushing buttons. It's such a joyful experience to smoke, if you have nothing to do one afternoon. Maybe Cindy is a good place to start? The only issue of have with her is the couchlock. It's not quite energetic enough for me. I think I maybe cross a Cindy with a White Rhino for sleep, but not for playtime during the day.

Here's a ripe sativa dom cola on a dwarf autoflower Amnesia Haze. She carries Cinderella Jack's feminized seeds.

I dont claim to be a breeder, but I play with genetics, my latest is BB3 over a dozen or so various females, even a pair of autos. The BB3 is an F3, the seeds from the BB3 female will be F4s. I am looking forward to growing some of these crosses like the GG4, and the DGD (Dresden Green Diamond, one big heavy plant) and on, who know whats going to be the next best strain/hybrid.
Many years ago a small group of us decided to save seed and plant. First year was 4 different strains, the next year we added 3 more, at that time we got landraces from all over the world. After that we no longer bought seedy weed, we grew our own. About 7 years in we double it's chromosomes, and that did some weird shit for a few years! (We called it Tulsa Tops at this point) Once it was again stable the plants grew very fast to 20 feet tall, heavy yields and very good smoke, then the seed patch got ripped off, no seeds from any other patch. Lost, gone forever, I have though of trying to recreate it, but I cant find 2 strains, got close but nota.

Rwise -- I feel your pain. Ouch, damn. I have also been ripped off on outdoor grows. When it comes to growing something hardy enough to take advantage of the near-tundra north, where I live, a sativa is a laughable suggestion. That's part of the reason I'm shooting for a super short flowering cycle. So I need me an indica with the hardest hit and the least time in flower, as the first hybrid with my mystery landrace seeds. All I know about the seeds in my hand is that they mess me up good, but I have no idea of their heritage. Remember when I complained about sativa ripening times? These seeds are the reason. They take 90 - 100 days to flower!! Unacceptable!! Also, I will need to work in Autoflower genetics, if I hope to stand a chance outside. I'll have to plant June 1st and harvest no later than mid-September, probably earlier because of the rain and damp Yeah, realistically I'll need to harvest in late August or the beginning of September, just as the temperature outside creeps down into the 50s. Phew... I have a long road ahead of me. So chin up, brother! We will try something new together! There's nothing stopping us this time! And your Mazar looks tasty too. That's about 50% of my all-time favorite strain, LSD. Although LSD is still too sedative IMHO.

I was just digging through bags of packs and came across something that caught my eye. I think these might work well for your project. A Thai dominant Thai x NL SuperAuto developed in Canada that is supposed finish 1st of September outside if you start them indoors early May and put outside June 1st.

FunkyButtLovin -- This is just right for my purposes... Perhaps this can save me a few years development time. I will check out SuperAutos in general, because this is quite promising. I mean, I've been following Stitch's work with autos, but I had no idea this was possible already! I guess it tells me how much money is in cannabis now. So weird for a man who grew up with the police standing on his chest about it.

If you decide to buy from Boreal, don't forget to tell them I sent you and they'll probably throw us both some freebies.

FunkyButtLovin -- Will do. Right now I'm back looking at Flash Seeds stock. They are one of my favorite autoflower companies. I'm considering their auto lemon haze as a starting point. I will make up my mind this week sometime. Need to sleep on it. Thanks for the feedback, so happy to have a comrade, even if your name isn't something easily worn at a RL convention. LOL

North Chi has some competition. I remember driving from the nw side to Wilmette and Winnetka just to get some of that good north side bud. good luck.
....might want to start back crossing these strains you have first to stabilize them, otherwise the seeds will be all over the place (genetically speaking).
The breeders I know don’t just cross any strain they like, anyone can accomplish this. It’s a process to stabilize a strain and produce seeds that are competitive among the commercial market. I would try to limit the seeds to only like 2-3 phenotypes, to be a successful breeder of a strain. Otherwise it’s not really breeding, it’s just making a seed.
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

I don't have the time or the resources to stabilize until I find a hybrid worth the effort. Once I do, I will stabilize based on back-crossing with cuttings (clones) of my chosen champion. I think this is the way most underground growers stabilize. Nice to meet you, Toker1!

Considering I'd like this new creature to be semi-autoflowering or "SuperAuto" it's very important that I train her to remain TINY while trying to keep her sativa heritage around 85%. Are there any tiny sativa strains renowned for energy that anyone knows about?

Nice to meet you as well.
As for tiny, I have had luck with white buffalo... but I am not sure where you can pick it up outside of San Jose. Also, it’s a photo strain. Maybe someone created a similar auto recently?
