starting seedling under 63 watt led?

Hi. I was just curious if anybody knows if you can use a 63 watt led (has 4 brightness settings if it should be less and any suggestions on distance would be appreciated) to start a seedling and keep it under it until a couple of nodes (or if anybody has a good suggestion of time to move over) and than place it under a 300 watt CMH? I am thinking that putting it directly under the 300 watt CMH is causing my seedlings to be stunted.

    Thanks.

Could be a number of things stunting your seedlings. Underwatering is an easy one for beginners to do, overwatering as well. Have to find the happy medium usually and you should be fine, even under a 315 CMH bulb. Just start your light a little higher and you should be good. I have used mine for seedlings and clones and had no problem. But yes you can use a 63W LED, you just may have to keep it somewhat close.

This ain't gonna be a popular post but awhile back someone shared an article from a professor at Utah St claiming seedlings actually do better under full light. I gave it a try & wholeheartedly agree. I now keep my seedlings 20in from a 150w Mars Hydro who's recommendation is 32in & my yunguns have never been stronger.

Yeah I've never dimmed my lights or anything really either. I usually start up a little higher just to be safe, since some seeds are picky at first. But once they start going without issues, I know it's good from there.

I agree if you know the lights and tried the distances.
