COCO COIR use of ph up and down at once

Hello first post or question. The first time i read about using ph up and down on gwe website it said that once ph down was in and if it was to low you couldn't use ph up
Because it would result in some nutrients getting locked up. That leaves me with questions hopefully yall have answers. First what started this was i put to much ph down
in fresh water so hence it didn't have nutrients in it could i use ph up since no nuts to lock up.Dont worry i threw it out but got me curious on hydro setup that im thinking of getting.
One would believe that some ph up or down during week would be necessary so more questions lol.

I've never heard of not being able to balance out your pH if it goes too low or too high on the first try. Can you link to where you read this on here?

Idk if you can or not. Basic science says don't. I would be interested to know if anyone has tried & what the results were......?

I've done this quite a few times. No harm

Ideally, you’ll pH your tap and or “filtered“ water first...add nutrients and find the ideal starting point with ph up & down so you don’t need to add both at the same time. What I mean by this is that you don’t want to get caught in a game of up and down on your initial feeding/reservoir, it’ll only cause more headaches!!!

If your pH is 6.5 in hydro after adding nutrients, and you want to bring it down, start with 1 ml/ per gallon of water and see how “your” water reacts to that over 48 hours to bring it down to 5.8-5.6.

if your starting point is lower...5.4-5.5, bring it up to 6.2-6.5 and let it come down.

Don’t get caught in the pH up/down game where you’re always chasing it. Find where your water wants to be up or down... and adjust into range. Eventually you’ll use one more than the other and it’s ok, it’s just a matter of your water quality.
Failure is an opportunity for improvement!!

There are some experienced growers that call this the pH F***/F*** game!!! It’s better to avoid it!!
