    Nutrient deficiency with nutrient burn?

    Hello people!

I have some problems with my grow. I have three different strains growing and they are showing similar spots on them. I've looked thru all the guides here and I can't make any conclusions.

Since the spots which all of these problems primarily started with indicate a calcium deficiency I was really surprised, since my tap water is very hard and definitely has a lot of calcium in it. I had some of the calcium deficiency spots but also rust colored spots that started around the tips of the leaves and spread inwards. Predominantly on the fan leaves closest to the lights.

I see some similarities to light burn and phosphorus deficiencies due to overwatering in there too. I fixed these things accordingly.

I tried watering with a mix of rainwater and water from the dehumidifier ph'd to 6,5 for few days and corrected the water regimen to be more specific to individual plant need (lift the pot method). But that kind of made it escalate fast on the worst effected plants and some on the others as well.

As you can see, I have rust colored fan leaves, calcium spots and a whole lot of other signs of deficiencies going on. What's happening?

I think maybe what I'm using could a "soilless media" , could it be lockout of nutrients since I ph the water after soil requirerments? I added some bacteria and mycorhiza to it, that doesn't make it soil like i'm thinking?
Or my tap water quality although I mix it with rain and destilled water? I added calmag and maybe it's too MUCH calcium and it starts problems?

Please let me know if you have any ideas on what the problem could be. I try to list as much of the specs here:

    Light: 4*400w Solarsystem LED
    Media: 40% Peat 40% Vermiculite 20% Perlite
Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients - sometimes adding own diluted urine and home made worm compost tea
Water sources: 30% filtered well water 0,8 EC - 50% rainwater 0,04 EC - 20% destilled water from dehumidifier 0,0 EC - makes finished water solution around
Ventilation: In- and outtake fan, more than enough for room size
Temp: 24-25 celsius at daytime - 21-22 celsius at night
    Humidity: 60-70%

Man that's some nasty looking plants sorry to say. Very unusual to me the soil mix. Vermiculite helps to retain moisture also perilte which is why i guess you used so much with peat moss? So i would highly recommend working a different soil mix next round add some organic potting soil if you can find it. I think you began with lockout early and it just continued.

Some of the plants are nearly ready to take the top colas from? I personally would of taken about 40% of the leaf off during late veg into 3 wks of flower but that's me. To many leaf cause mold and no air flow. Good luck and water when needed not just by looking at them lift the pot see if it's light.

Are you using your own urine. Not everything that comes out is necessarily good for the plant.

My gut reaction based on your pictures isn't deficiencies at all but rather just the opposite. In my opinion it looks like you have some nutrient burn going on. My suggestion would be to remove the most seriously damaged leaves and give a mild flush. Too often as growers we see something going on and our first impulse is to feed it. Plants will die very slowly from a lack of nutrients but can be burned to death in a day. I would also suggest you stop peeing in your fertilizers. It really contains a lot of ammonia. Your worm compost tea should be all you need to balance your PH. This year I began using my homemade worm compost as about 30% of my potting medium and I have not had to adjust for PH on any of my plants so far this year. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.

Thank you Gjourney 101. I've been doing this a really long time and have never had anyone to share tips and info with. It's nice to have other like minded people to exchange knowledge with. I'm learning a lot, especially about indoor grows. I'll probably never do it bu,t it's good info to have.

I'm well aware, that's why I'm so scared to fuck it up even more from now on. Vermiculite helps retain moisture but perlites main function is to aerate the soil is it not? I got the recipe from Youtube and Dr Bruce Bugbee that has been growing and studying cannabis for over 20 years. He means this is the optimum media. But my previous grows I've grown more with organic soil and the result has been better...

What do you mean by taking the top colas? Harvest?

It's called sequential harvest. If bottom 1/2 of plant not ripe yet but top colas are we clip and allow the lower half to carry on and ripen. No disrespect on your plan it's just nute lockout. Best of luck
