    What is this???

Hey guys. Got something going on with my outdoor grow. What is this? It started out just one branch with the leaves and now it's spread to all three plants. It's nothing that I can scrape off so I thought it was just some sort of a pH thing at first. Does anybody know what this is? What kind of insect or what?

Looks like leaf hopper damage to me. GWE has a good tutorial on this bug issue in their problem section. It’s the way I diagnosed your problem! I highly recommend reading GWE tutorials and after doing that, if you cant find an answer, ask the forum.

I will do that. I just sprayed them with some azamax, but I'm not sure if that would be helpful or not.

SoOrbudgal , I am confused by your fish guano comment. Was that meant to go to this post or should I be considering fish Guana or something for leafhoppers?

Well I'm coming back to this post because I sadly have to say set the Monterey Garden spray has not slowed down the leafhopper damage on my plants. This could be for a number of reasons one being that the weather here in Vermont has been crazy. It seems like as soon as I spray them, it rains. Sometimes for 10 minutes. Then it'll be 91° out and the next day it will rain for 3 minutes. This stuff I'm guessing washes off pretty quickly?
is there any product I can try that does not wash off with these repeated showers I am dealing with.? Sadly one of the plants that looks like it could be a great producer is being devoured. I'm spraying every 5 days to no avail.😥

I would spray them every other day to every 3 days, and soak them good! Captain Jacks Dead Bug is good to and they cover some different bugs than Spinosad. Praying mantis could be of great help.

I use and recommend Ferti-lome Triple Action concentrate during veg stages of growth. Contains neem oil and pyrethrin. I use it to control spider mites, white flies, caterpillars, fungus gnats, aphids, mealy bugs, and powdery mildew. It works great and I have not been able to detect any residuals in the finished product bud if I only use it during veg. and through the first week of flower. You Will need a spray bottle to mix it and apply it to plants.

Yeah I just got the sprayer that nebula recommends in the tutorials. It works great. I found a container of neem oil, but the spray you are suggesting seems to have more to it. I will look into that.

How about praying mantises and ladybugs and other carnivorous insects? I would love to have a small, resident family of praying mantises in my tent. Mom, Dad, a few little praying mantises. Maybe a troupe of acrobatic lady bugs. No bugs in my tent, but it would be cool.
                  But seriously. Carnivorous insects.

I would love to have that, praying mantises and all of that but what's to keep them in my grow area? They would just be there for short time and then take off to other parts you know what I mean?

If they have food, they'll stick around. There are fine mesh coverings you can put over your plants to help keep them in. Not cover your whole plant for your grow. Just a bit to get them situated. Check bug sites that might give you better information about what works in your area. Since I shop at Home Depot, I can say they have a number of insects available.

Arbico organics has a great selection of bugs. I use Captain Jacks dead bug. Works pretty well for leaf hoppers.
