    Time to make the switch!

GWE, I've grown fond of everything you've helped me with along the way and it hasn't gone to waste.

For me, it's time to switch to 12/12. She's about 1 1/2 months into veg and healthy. If I didn't have grow room restrictions, I'd let her really fill out, but alas my tent is 2x2x4 and I can't run the risk of what problems would come if I did. Anyways, I'm turning her light on at 9 a.m tomorrow instead of 6 a.m and starting then! I don't have a timer so this 12/12 schedule will actually be a little easier for me so I don't have to set an alarm for lights out, I'll still be awake

I have more seeds awaiting, but I decided to do one at a time and learn all I can. For me it's therapeutic to watch a seed grow into its full form, but so is learning about it. Spending a couple hours at night reading up on how this beautiful plant thrives with a good joint rolled is a happy place for me.

I'll keep a tab on this post so I can update weekly. Flowering here we come!

I suggest getting a $5-10 Timer switch. Had a buddy try to do the same with his schedule and the growth came in all funny. My guess was that he was not consistent enough with the on-off times.

Pretty much agree with Toker1 consistency is a key component with healthy grow. She's going to stretch during 12/12 but only for the first 3wks give or take.

Yeah I've been maybe 90% accurate. I'm going to order one today since the 12/12 darkness period is so crucial. There were some days my alarm didn't go off or I was just zonked out and didn't here it go off. It'd go from 18-6 to 23-1 at least onve a week because I didn't wake to turn it off.

I think it's the easy way with the timer. I got to get another also for a 2nd tent it's running 24hrs. Shit i'm retired and I sure don't want to be punching the time clock to wake up or put to bed plants LOL

Haha I don't blame you! I thought it'd be easy. You just wake up and flip a switch off, right? Nope. Waking up at 12 a.m then 6 a.m every day to make a switch seriously dragged me down.

Too much variability in the process. Wake up, Flip the switch at 6:05, 6:10? Oops, forgot that day and didnโ€™t turn on the lights until 7. Or, Forgot to set my wake up alarm clock, power went out and reset my alarm ... you get the point. The daylight hours are critical to growth. No room for variation there.
Itโ€™s worth the $5-10 just for piece of mind.

          Iโ€™m doing it without a timer ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜… I donโ€™t trust the timers.
I just set the alarm 5 minutes before i should turn on the light in the morning when my plants was in veg. Then I took time on how long it took me for going down from 2. Floor and into the basement.
And this is what I do in bloom also.
Normally Iโ€™m so excited to see the plants after the dark period that Iโ€™m always awake 20 min before I even should get up ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
Just because people are over 50 doesnโ€™t mean they know everything.

Sounds just like me! Even if it's a quarter of an inch they've grown. That LED might blind me right when I get up but it's worth it all! ๐Ÿ˜‚

First night of flowering went great. No light leaks.

Health seems good and after a topping almost a week ago, the 2 new colas are almost 2 inches long. Stems are getting real big too!

I did put heavier layering on my grow rooms window so light couldn't come in or go out, but with it being 102 degrees yesterday my blinds (with the layering of covers) literally melted! Yes, melted. Of all things, the last thing I thought would happen by putting covers up would be my blinds melting. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Live and learn my friends.
