Experiment around my friend. With that many seeds you should be test all your theories!

I’ll copy and paste the book text when I can. But it said the the 16-8 can encourage females when coupled with a dominant blue light spectrum. I’m using seeds. I have over 50 seeds so I will test the theory and give you my findings.

I had my seedling box on a 16-8 but box 2,3 on a 18-6.
i read that less light will encourage females. I also have a blue dominant spectrum light in my seedling box.
should I leave the 18-6 or keep the 16-8?
cheers

When you suggest you are trying to encourage females, I'm reading you're growing photoperiod seeds? Yes?

14/10s with certain temps and ferts at certain times is said to create more females, so I have read. I certainly cant prove it!

Gender is written in the DNA. Light fluctuations will cause hermies, but the normal is 18 on and 6 off. 16 and 8 shouldn't hurt or encourage anything. In the vegatative state, more light ( eith restrictions such as heat and so forth) is required
