    Looking for a sponsor

    Hi Guys,
this is my first time ever posting on a forum, although I always read them for the straight to the point advise that is found.
I have tried on numerous occasions to grow cannabis, but each time I was horribly unsuccessful, with my best attempt yielding 0.1 after 14 weeks!
i am exited this time, because i am finding the most success I have ever experienced with growing so far!

i am growing LSD by barneys farm, with the aid of a LED 30W, but spends time out on the balconies when it’s sunny. I live in the Mediterranean, so we have fantastic weather at the moment.
the plant is almost one meter high and as far as I can tell it’s doing pretty well. But, I have got this far down to pure luck. The plant first sprouted on 20th April 2020 ( 7 weeks almost). I’m not sure if it has started to flower, but I can smell it. I only gave it fertiliser 3 times in small doses, but I am afraid I may make a mistake. I know I need to feed it when it starts to proper flower, but haven’t got a clue. So much info to absorb, With each country using certain brands of fertiliser I cannot find where I am.

i am looking for a sponsor, to put me under his/her wing, so to speak, and help me once a week by looking at pictures of my plant and advising on what to do. Light, fert, water, HP etc...
I am tired of going to the garden centre and not knowing what to purchase. If I show my sponsor what’s available, then accurate advise can be given.

is there anyone who has the time to help me? It could be a fun experiment!

    looking forward to possible responses..

    have a great day guys
    Sam

If i were your "sponsor" i would have you read the tutorials on the main site first. This community is willing to help whenever you need so long as you put the work in. Start here:
This easy tutorial explains how to grow cannabis indoors from seed to harvest. Learn how to take care of your plants with step-by-step instructions!

Growing weed can be easy, though some marijuana grow tutorials make it seem like you need a degree in horticulture. Learn how to plant a seed & start growing with as little time and effort as possible, or read our advanced tutorials for monstrous yields!

If you dont find what you are looking for in those links there is a search function that you can search for any term and if you have any questions we're here to answer to the best of our knowledge.

I think they both summed it all up for you. Read the basics and when you have questions make a post and ask. There's a lot of people here to help, but most of us are hesitant about helping someone who hasn't done their homework and at least read the basics. That said, welcome and happy growing!

Wonder if you guys find this forum first before the GWE site where you can learn by reading the basics? I sometimes want to read on GWE but the forum link pops up first but maybe it’s just my smartphone being dumb?

          Hi Guys,

so I followed the link and read as much as I can absorb.
i read about the light and how important it is to the plant in both vegetation and flowering phases.
also I read about the nutrients and the important tool they have.
but I still have a couple of questions.
the first question is my lighting:
I am using a 30w LED ( as in picture) it starts at 2am on a timer and is supposed to go off at 6pm, but I always move it around 9am it so to the balconies for light and a food 4-5 hrs direct sunlight. Is this enough for my plant to flower? Should I ad another lamp? If so what?
please not that I live in the Mediterranean and during the day it is very bright with temps in mid 20s.
          my second question is fertiliser:
my LSD plant is not around 7 weeks old and I have only given it fertiliser 3 times..
first time and second time with at least a week apart and watered in between with regular bottled water I used 12.0: 5.6 : 15.4( picture )
the 3rd time I used the same brand but different NPK ratios: 25.0 : 5.7 : 10.7. This was the last feed around 10 days ago and a few days later I noticed the bottom leaves turning yellow and then dry and turn crisp. Just the verry bottom two leaves ( not the sprouting leaves they dies a few weeks ago, but the first set of flat leaves). Picture attached.
i also read that the HP levels are important, which leads me to believe I am just lucky till now, so my next thing is buying a HP tester.
After reading up on what you sent me I am not sure now what to give my plant at this stage. I read that I am to stay away from miracle grow ( I have already bought it ) and I also have another brand ( picture attached) is it suitable for the phase the plant is in now? I can always get the cheap crystals 20-20-20 if it works. I am lost.
i only water my plant when I feel the pot getting light weighted and it seems to like it that way, leaves never droop, so I guess I am good on the water department?

Sounds like you got the watering down. The main concern is the light, but i'm not very versed on LED's. 30w is kinda low for flower but it might be able to do one plant. Someone who knows led's will be able to comment more about that.

As far as miracle grow is concerned, the main thing you want to stay away from is the extended release products. Esp their soil. Cannabis has low nitrogen uptake in flower so the extended release causes issue in flower. Their plant food im not sure about but as long as it is not extended release i think you should be fine. Im a coco/hydro grower so someone more versed in soil can be of more help.

Ph is very important for coco and hydro but soil can get away with more as the soil usually has "buffers" to help with nutrient absorption. That said, ideal for soil is 6-7.

As far as doing a hybrid indoor/outdoor grow i know people do it, but i probably never will. My thing is I grow in a tent and that tent only has so much head room. If i take it outside i cant control the height as well as it tends to stretch more than having the lights close to promote squaty plants. Also, pests. Outside i have lots of pests and if i keep bringing the plant outside and inside i am inevitably bringing pests into my grow room. Not that it cant be done, i just think the risk out weighs the reward but that is just my opinion.

I agree with you. If more than one plant it becomes a hassle to move around. And the pests, your also right there. I have picked up a few black ones and yellow, but because I only have one plant I regularly picked them out under the light and looks like they is very little pests left.
thanks for sharing with me what you know and like you said let’s see what comments come from people who have the led knowledge.
i don’t think the fets I have are extended release, as I already know they are not good for cannabis.. I will post the nutrients and see what advise I get on ratio etc...
              thanks for your input

No prob man! I am not the end all of knowledge and will admit where my knowledge is lacking. Hope to see others who can help you with your specific circumstances and good on you reading all the tutorials! Unfortunately we see several people who dont want to put in the research and just want us to solve their problems so if i sounded a bit harsh at first I apologize. There are many ways to grow a plant so find the way that works best for you. We'll be here to do the best we can to help!

Thanks for the support.. yes there are folks out there who want to use your knowledge to make their life easier. I see your point, it wasn’t harsh, it was honest.
i have been reading bits and pieces from before, but there is too much to take in it confused me.
for example if you look closely you will see in one of the pics that the leaves have white sports on them. When I tried to find out why, I came across all sorts.. could be spider mites, too much nitrogen, zinc deficiency and so on..
what do you think the reason is for the white spots,,, they are only on the lower branches mined!

Do the white spots wipe off? If so you may have a WPM issue (white powdery mold). If they dont wipe off and are damaged leaves then it could be pest related. I would check the leaves (under too) with a magnifier as some pests are hard to see with the naked eye. Alternatively, it could be random damage from whatever. I dont think it's a deficiency but ph issue sometimes show up as discolored spots. My hunch is pest issue as the second pic on the third row there seems to be kind of a cluster of white dots that looks a little like pest activity to me, but i could be wrong.

No they don’t rub off.. I don’t think it’s PMD, as it dose t rub off and I grew cucumbers before and know PMD.
I think that you are on to something thought with the pests, because every time I look into the problem I always am left with pests being the most likely reason.
but you also mentioned it could just be random damage from the environment or damp or something.. but I’m guessing my plant is at least 90% healthy. Right?

Problem is if it's a microscopic pest like spider mites or thirps by the time you see significant damage it's probably too late as you already have an infestation. Sometimes leaf damage is just because i might have been a little rough with the plant, but i would make sure it's not a pest as if you flower with a pest issue there is not much you can do without ruining the buds. It's much easier to fix a pest issue in veg. You can hope for it being random damage but i would make sure it's not a pest issue before inducing flower.

Ok it makes sense what you’re saying..
so let’s assume I do have a pest problem.
what is the best safest way to eradicate the issue before it gets worse or like you said when flowering!
is there any harm done if I treat the plant for pests if the problem isn’t pests?

Unfortunately, this is another area i have little experience in. I have read a bunch, but have never actually had a pest problem (other than fungus gnats) in my cannabis. What i would do is first try and identify the pest. If that is not possible then there are some blanket insecticides that i have no experience in lol. I know others have battled pests in the forum so i would actually recommend making a separate post asking for help identifying specifically the leaf damage/issue with close up pics in clear and white light.
