Working on trimming the OG Kush still. So far, I have 5 mason jars full. Not sure of the weight per jar yet. Will update. Until then, here's a pic of the tote full of bud before trimming:

Hoping they won't overdry but at this point, I could care less what happens. See below for a photo of the room after the chop.

I didn't have time to do the same with the OG Kush so instead, I drained the reservoir and refilled it with pHed water (no nutrients). Who knows, maybe they will hold up until I get back. If not, no big deal. That was a freebie out of a batch I bought a while back.

I might try growing again but not until I have my room exactly like I want it, including climate control and pest prevention. Until then, there is literally no point in wasting time or money. That is a good lesson for all you beginners out there too. Start slow or do a ton of planning first. Otherwise, you will bite off more than you can chew and you may end up with a ton of wasted time and money like I did. And this is after a successful grow prior to this.

Other than that, I do wish you all the best of luck with your grows. And if someone wants to be an instant millionaire, come up with a sure-fire way to prevent spider mites!!!!

I am hopeful you make whatever changes you deem required. If I may offer a suggestion, I would also plan for a contingency stash. Mine (this harvest) will be hash oil from my trim. It worked pretty awesome, other than the mess it entails, on my first harvest. The dry ice hash I made from my second harvest was disappointing and didn't produce the quantity I think I need. I'm shocked the hash oil worked so well. I could only find 150 proof Everclear and it was my FIRST harvest. Thank goodness for the instructions on GWE! Once my other two plants are ready for harvest, I'll put my larf buds (my Seedsman Cheese has lots of them) and trim to soak in my new bottle of 190 proof Everclear.

I have learned over the past year, that LIFE happens. We lose electricity, the Borg invade, a fan burns out...it happens. Fortifying yourself with an alternative you ALSO produce with your harvest should increase your satisfaction.

Yesterday I discovered I had a bad infestation of spider mites so I sprayed my plants with Neem oil. Well, apparently the plants didn't like it and are now almost dead. 150 f'ing days of work and money FOR NOTHING! I'm done growing! Way too much stress for very little return! Good luck GWE community! I give up!

Just did a nutrient change and decided to repeat week 11's formula since the plants are still ripening. I checked the Peyote Cookies with my loupe and the trichs are around 40% cloudy so I have a little while to go. I'm hoping it times out with a trip I have to take the first few days of October. I'd like to cut them down after I get back rather than before. The OG Kush is slowly catching up. Probably another 4 weeks or so, maybe less. Until next time, happy growing!

SoOrbudgal I'm hoping to harvest in the next two weeks because I have to go on a trip in 2 weeks and I don't want to leave them while they are growing. The Peyote Cookies are sooooo close but I'm not going to cut them early. Hoping to at least have those cut down, trimmed and starting their dry by then. I have to be gone for 4 days so I'm nervous.

Sounds great @eliz your cookie looks amazing. I hope you see what we see when using molasses. I've noticed a bigger swelling i think? We are not far off in both our harvests. We should get together for a trimming marathon LOL I would'nt mind sitting down to some good ol steely dan and grooming Great growing.

Yesterday I did a nutrient change and I'm on nutrient week 11. I ran out of my Flora Nectar so I'm using molasses instead. I put 1 tsp per 5 gallons which was the recommended amount for a mild dose according to the label. The nutrient mix solution had a pH of 6.04 so I didn't change anything. I'm hoping the Peyote Cookies will be ready for harvest in the next two weeks. The OG Kush likely has another 3 weeks or more. Until next time, happy growing!

Here's what you missed since the last update:

On Sunday of last week, I did a nutrient flush and change. Still on week 10's formula but will be switching to week 11 next time. I got the pH on both jugs to around 5.85 and since the plants are in their final days, they aren't drinking near as much. Haven't needed to top off since the flush so I'll just drain and change tomorrow. The Peyote Cookies buds are fattening up nicely. I've attached a pic of one of the main colas. I think I have about a week or two left before I cut her down. The OG Kush is not as full but there is a lot more growing so it should be a nice yield. Still have about 3 to 4 weeks on those I'm guessing.

Here's the latest on my two plants:

On Monday I did a nutrient change and have now switched to week 10's formula at 5.8ph. The Peyote Cookies plant is nearing the end of it's flowering phase and the buds are growing quite large! The pistils are all still white but that will likely change in the next week or so. The OG Kush plants are are still filling in and would be around their mid-flower phase. Not too concerned with them since it was a last minute addition and came out of a batch I bought from the local dispensary so it was free. I'm basing my feeding schedule on the Peyote Cookies plant at this point. Only a 12 day difference so it should be fine. I've attached a few photos below of the buds as they were when I did the change. You can see how much further along the Peyote Cookies plant is next to the OG Kush. Both plants are super sticky and smell incredible. The weird flat-top stalk is about an inch and a half wide and doing a "paintbrush" thing. Until next time, happy growing!
