Has anyone ever raised the same strain from different seed companies?

I noticed certain strains such as Northern Lights are offered by several seed banks. Does anyone out there have experience raising a particular strain from one breeder then trying the same one from a competitor? I try to buy (at least since this year) seeds from the breeder that originated the strain but that's not always practical or economical. "Real" Granddaddy Purple seeds are not cheap at all but I would like to try them out sometime after I exhaust the GDP seeds I got from ILGM last year. (It may be a while - I have three seeds left plus clones and a mom.)

That’s a good question I’ve wondered myself. Are you growing all 6 plants in a 3x3?

Btw the ILGM 420 sales got me and I have some Gorilla Glue, Bruce Banner, California Dream and Banana Kush heading my way so I may be there soon

Nice! Also all strains I haven't tried yet if you count GG1 as separate from GG4. I can guarantee you that in good conditions, BB will triple its height in the flowering stretch!

The nature of genetics promotes diversity. I've gotten original glue seeds from 2 different banks, 1 was a spot on match to gg#4 clones I had grown. The other banks seeds, only 2 of 5 came close to resembling true glue.

Me too. I did gorilla glue from Herbies bulk. Nothing like the classic #4 clone I grew many years ago.

I really like this comparison of various White Widow seeds from a range of breeders: https://seedmarket.com/blog/en/welco...annabis-seeds/

It's a bit of a shame they didn't do a comparison of terpenes or at least a smoke report. The effect we are looking for in a particular strain is more important than minor differences in bud output.

I grew blueberry from canuk seeds(free seed) about a year ago. It was nice smoke but didn't smell like blueberries or had any blue color to it. Now I'm going blueberry from seedsman (free seed) and I'll see if there is any difference,.

I've got one of those freebies just spreading its second leaves. You'll probably going to beat me to harvest because I'm growing her out to be a mom while I finish the current crop then flower out a bunch of clones I took for practice here while back. (I didn't need the practice)

The GDP you want was created by Ken Estes. Try to find kens cut. You won’t be disappointed.
