Returning grower looking for a bit of advice.

Hello guys! This is my 1st post on your forums so here goes.
We have completed 3 grows that went really well, due to life issues and having to move it has been 2 years since we last grew and honestly my mind has gone pretty blank about a lot of stuff we learnt in the limited experience we had.
This time round we are looking to do a 100% organic grow in soil our tent is a 2x2 meter tent and our flowering lamp is a 600w sodium bulb (have a cfl for flowering) We will be wanting to grow in soil and will be hand watering our girls wich will be 5 White widow from Whitelabel out of the sensi seed bank in holland

What I am posting for I was wondering for any advice on nutes/soil to use there is so much choice out there I am lost and not sure how to make a decision. I would rather a simpler nute plan rather than something with 10 different supplements and 5 different bottles on top of that.

I am from the UK as I know that can make a difference.

Really looking forward to getting growing again any help that people can offer will be greatly appricated

P.s would love to doccument my grow as its happening and maybe getting some help from experienced growers (dont know anyone irl that grows), not sure if this is a place that enjoys grow journals or not so if people would be interested let me know and Ill get some pictures of our tent/lights etc b4 we get our seeds going,

    Thanks again for reading.

Hey welcome back to the grow! Hell yeah we like journals, go for it! And we love pictures!
i use emerald harvest nutes diet but I'm not sure how actually organic it is. I started with advanced nutrients brand but was told the salt content is so high you basically need to flush every 2 or 3 feedings in order to avoid nitrogen toxicity. No N toxicity signs with EH so far, using full strength doses. My basic feedings with EH include 4 different bottles in flowering. 6 if I add calmag and sturdy stalk. I like this brand a lot better than AN. Less bottles, less salt, and cheaper.
    Hope that helps.

Dougalishere,, I am an organic soil grower. My own concoction has lots of hocus pocus and snake oil ingredients, which is part of the fun for me. However a decent soil can be made from a peat and garden soil mix. Adding compost and manure will round it out nicely. I dont use supplements until well into vegetative stage and then use a high nitrogen fish emulsion. There are other organic fertilizer choices out there, obviously, but dont know what is available to you there in the UK. Once flowering begins I switch to a low nitrogen, high phosphorus, high potasium mix, also fish based. My plants get all the trace elements they need from the base soil. IMHO, my results are good and I dont feel the need to "flush" out nasties before harvest, like others do. Hand watering is a nice way to stay connected to your plants ! Good luck and keep us posted.

I as well use emerald harvest nutrients at full strength...love the whole line up...I got it all!!

You mentioned you have a 600 watt hps for flower.
Cfls for veg..?? How many...you will need a lot of them.

I'd stick to simplicity if I were you...coco blend for medium...

Organics..suppers...kind...all those soils are supposed to be easy...until you have problems then it's hard as heck to diagnose and fix cause it's all in there...the soil...

I suggest organics for vegetable garden outside....
Anyway..if you stick with organics you will have plenty help from a lot of great people here.

        Journals are a must...pics are mandatory..lol

Wow , thanks for the lots of replies

I will take some pictures of my set up later this week when I get it all cleaned up and ready to go again.

Canyon Grower I was looking at the biobizz lightmix for my seedlings into the allmix for veg flower , would like to just keep things nice and simple for our 1st return to grow, also thier range of nutes seem decent , although i see a few people recommend replacing one of thier suplements with blackstrap molasses and later on in the grow adding some epsom salts if needed. I feel like making my own soil (correct me if wrong but its the most important part of an organic grow?) and understanding what mmy plants need by lookiing at them might be a beyond us atm

OzBud my tent is actually 2.2 x 2.2 we only grow 4 plants at a time, the light generally seems to be enough? Will be switching to leds after this grow but money is tight atm and cant afford a new lighting set up.

Green75 Yeah we really wanted to try a full organic grow this time, but maybe after doing a bit more reading a looking into it all a bit more maybe we should just stiick to our old range of nutes(we used ionic range with a allmix soil from our local shop) as we know what we are doing with it? organic growing seems way more complicated and harder to balance evrything that is needed , like you say if something goes wrong it seems very hard to correct it? Really just want this 1st grow back to be as simple as can be.

Thx again for all your replies , I will get some pictures up of our lights/vent etc in the nxt couple of days so you can see what I am working with. Looking at starting evrything in about a week so just need to work out what im going to do nute and soil wise (organic or not bascially) and clean the room up so its all tidy and neat and ready to go.

            Thx again
            Dougal.

Hi, @Dougal, I think you will have success whichever route you go. Both soil and hydro are valid and useful methods. Each has its own quirks and challenges. I like DIY stuff so crafting my own soil is a natural for me, and it really isnt that hard. Remember, cannabis evolved in soil, so most healthy, reasonably ballanced soils will grow a decent crop. If you are leaning towards soil but dont want to mix your own there are many premix products out there. Just remember that a good one wont need to be drenched in a bunch of supplemental nutrients. It causes potential problems, like @green mentions, and sort of defeats the purpose of an "organic " anyway. Regardless of which way you go, there are many nice folks here that are happy to give you their two bits of advice. Go at it and get growing, we can feel your enthusiasm.! 😁

First off thanks for all the replies and the welcome , was very nice.

OK so finally cleaned our room up and took some snaps of the inside of the tent , sadly as the room the tent is in is actually very small I cant back up enough to get a full shot of the tent but here is a snap of the vents/fiilter and veg lights no other photos that actually show anything that are worth posting, there is nothing on the floor atm but youll get to see that once the babies are cracked and starting to sprout.

We have always grown in 15 or 10 ltr pots before but had some issues with space so this grow our final pots will be 8 ltr pots, we understand there will most likely be a much smaller yield but yield isnt really important to us as qualiity is way way more important.

We are just going to use our previous range of nutes and soil and while we know they arnt the best we have had results with them before and understand mesurements and stuff with them. When we have got back into the swing of things hopefully we can get onto a full organic grow.

Ill be back in a couple of weeks once they are sprouting and we actually have something to show you Hopefully I can plunder some advice from more experienced people than ourselves and keep you entertained with our adventures at the same time.

                Untill then pce
