2nd Grow Planning... Seeds or Clones?

well after getting to where I'm almost ready to harvest my first grow, I'm starting to plan my second. I did clones (actually got teens) for my first grow and contemplating doing that again or doing seeds from Nirvana (thinking feminized northern lights). Anyway I only grow four at a time, but my question is how long will the seeds stay good for? If I order now and they show up in two weeks but I'm not ready to plant for 4 weeks is there anything I can do to save the seeds or do they have to be planted right away? I'm going to try the manifold tutorial for next round instead of the lst I did this time.

I grow in kind soil and coco loco as the top of the medium. Can I germinate the seed directly in the coco or do I need to start with plugs and then transplant them to the soil mixture, or should I just be lazy and get clones?

seeds will survive a lot longer than a month. Just keep them in a cool, dark & dry place and they'll last a year + easy.even without being stored in a fridge/freezer.
You should be able to plant directly in the coco if you want. Plugs are just recommended to make things easier

      Yes can germ in coco...

Seeds will last a very very long time baggie in sock drawer for a year..then airtight bag in fridge or freezer if needed.

Seeds tend to grow more vigorously...usually...
Clones leave you with their current setup..plants from seed can be shaped to your liking better...

If you could put in a silica packet when storing it would help! Peace

Seeds will store indefinitely in the freezer. There are viable cannabis seeds from the 70's still around, frozen. My oldest ones have been frozen ten years and still sprout fine.
Like Potted said- a silica pack is a good idea. The weak link in the freezer method, in particular, is when seeds are taken out and then put back in- condensation forms. So for long term storage keep a silica pack in there and recharge (dry) it once in a while.

Once again you guys are amazing! Just curious since I only have room for four, do you guys grow the same strain or different ones each cycle?

I usually have about a dozen different strains going at any given time -pure sativas to pure indicas and in between- and it's a real pain in the ass with all the different feeding schedules and flowering times and other different needs the girls are always silently shrieking about to me. But it makes it more fun for variety of plants and variety of smoke in the stash.
If you want to keep things 'simple' (lol) then just run one strain, or if you don't mind a little extra work and confusion then do more than one- but do some googling first to check the strain needs- particularly feeding strength, if you don't want to have to do more than one mix every time you feed.

I got my first seeds from an old outdoor grower they were at least 3 years old and still sprouted! I also only have room for 4 so i do 2 different strains, my new seeds stay in the fridge cause i go through them pretty quickly!
                Perpetual setup!
