ID:	394444 Hello all. So I have a month old mango haze that has taken a bit of a beating. It was started in potting soil then transplanted into a 3gallon fabric pot with a super soil potting soil mix. The water it was getting was distilled while it was young then I decided to give it rain water. The ph wasn’t bad but still beat this plant up the temp usually holds at 25 and a RH of 45-55. I say usually because the temp jumped up last night to 27 with a Rh of 44 but that’s never happened before. I’ve been making changes anyways there’s a bit of background on this poor little soul lol. My question is wtf causes the edges of the leaves to turn purple like that. Oh and this plant has been fed a small amount of kelp seaweed extract but the puple started before that.

A am going to suggest that you are displaying what could be 3 deficiencies however, these odd deficiencies are a bit uncommon but, making them appear as a deficiency due to lockout from pH is surely a possibility and more likely than the actual deficiency ... your plant may have plenty of trace elements and food source but the lockout prevents some of those compounds from being absorbed into it and make it so the deficiency is real.

‘’it’s like having every thing in your nutrient base like people gathered at the basement floor.....the elevator will take them up to the top but only the people whose last name begins with X. Once the ph problem is adequately solved, the elevators who take the other people will start working again and all the people can get to where they are supposed to go. Unless you actually have a root problem

Light hanging distance (specifically with LED) can cause crazy colors like that. I had a QB too close to some saplings and saw purple coloration as well one time.
when you say PH has been good, what does that mean? What was the PH of the water going in, and the run off coming out? Takes the guesswork out of the equation.
lastly, rain water could be the problem in itself. Depending on how you sourced it. If it came from a roof/gutter system and was collected this way... there could be a whole lot of issues with ph, pathogens, and what ever else was collected with it. Potentially that could be your issue besides the other possibilities I mentioned.

If I'm not mistaken it was snow then melted and watered. I've done it. Shouldn't be anything living in the snow till it's almost melted in natural environment then there is a type of mould that lives on the surface. And yes light distance. Easy to but them at this age.

Unfortunately bacteria and viruses can freeze, then thaw back to life. Also, that’s not your only concern with bringing in unknowns. Did the snow fall near radio active rocks? Point is, just as a general rule I don’t bring in anything to my garden that came from outside. Too many unknowns and the reward never equals the risk. I’m in CA, water is a rare commodity here and it’s expensive to pump into the home. I think I pay 9 cents per gallon. I use plain tap water for my girls, fairly controlled compared to rain or snow water.

Everything will be radio active soon with the fires burning near Chernobyl nuclear plant, putting it up in the air and coming back down all over. Same here nothing comes in from out. Only outside water for my outdoor plants in the summer. But I digress. Yes ph issue maybe lockout or something unseen.

What your problem is most likely still related to the potting soil.. which most of the time are not that great for cannabis but that may have caused a root problem or nutrient lockout.. I’m thinking your high in nitrogen
also here’s this chart should help
          potassium or zinc deficiency?

Very very true!! Not all bagged soils are created equal. & garden topsoil is usuly too hot for young pot plants.

I'm almost starting to think its a combination of the water and shitty soil.Yes it was snow but the way it was collected was for sure an issue i got it from the down spout. The PH when it went in if I remember correctly was about 6.8 around there and the runoff was 6.4 it is slowly starting to recover and the purple hasnt spread at all ill throw up a pic here. Thank you guys all so much this has been very helpful.

Run off Water collects elements as it moved across a surface. What ever was on the roof, in the gutters, or inside the spout could cause contamination you don’t want your plants exposed to. Lesson learned.

I looked back to a past grow and I have the same purple on the leaves. It was back black earth, no perlite, packed like cement, I had to wash the dirt off the roots real good and plant into better soil when the store opened. Empty wallet makes us use what we have sometimes. Was likely lack of nutrients or lockout due to untested water which turned out to be ph 8. They stunted for a week then grew out of it and turned into the plants I'm flowering today. We can bring them back from anything. Almost.
But your soil looks in good shape a d water is within range. Could of been rain water and over watering and they will come back with good water and being let dry out real well between watering. Dry real well real. Well. Lol. take it day by day.
