    Tap water, or bottled

Hello, I just started my 3rd grow, hydro DWC, and I’ve spent a lot of money buying bottled water for my previous grows. I’m thinking of using water from my house tap for this one. Any advice?

I use tap water successfully in DWC and aeroponic applications. As long as you have a decent source, should be ok.
just make sure to add silica. 👍

      No prob.
Advanced nutrients makes rhino skin. I believe it’s potassium silica. There are less expensive manufacturing companies that will will make the same thing for a lower price.

I used tap water until I was trying to determine a problem I was having, and switched to RO water, ended up I was not using enough Cal Mag.
Once I complete this grow, will go back to tap water (ppm 110) and use more Cal Mag.
I never have used Silica, but will test on my next grow season.
Toker1 How do use silica and at what rate?

Tap water works for me. The ph on mine varies now and then. Not often but need to watch it. Ppm runs around 150 up to 175. Ph is usually around 7. I fill 1 gallon jugs then let them sit for a day or more.
