HELP! Yellow Leaves & Burnt Tips!

    Hi all,

Second grow here, outdoors, 5 weeks into flower or so, my first photo.. I'm using a super soil recipe in a fabric pot from a local grower which worked fine for my first grow which was an auto, but now my big plant (about 4.5 months old in the super soil mix) is displaying a few problems.

    1) I have some yellowing leaves around the plant, which seem to be in random places, not older leaves only at the bottom or anything - eventually these leaves are very weak and can be pulled off easily. The rest of the growth seems quite dark and nitrogen rich, with even a few older, bigger leaves clawing, so I'm unsure if it would be a nitrogen deficiency like I've read about yellowing leaves. Some of the yellowing leaves have burnt tips. Some go yellow all over and some seem to yellow in the margins and progress to the whole leaf.

    2) The tips of the flowers especially (& other fan leaves) are burnt quite bad, this seemed to happen after top dressing the soil with sulfate of potash a couple of weeks ago however I can't be certain, it might have been there prior.

When posting elsewhere I was told the plant needs more nutrients to assist with flowering so I bought canna flores & have given a single dose of that so far. The growth seems to be a bit darker but there still appears to be some leaves yellowing. I also have some worm castings I could top dress with or make a tea from but I haven't yet as I'm unsure where the problem lies and don't want to further burn etc.

Could this be a PH issue? I was told with my super soil, water PH doesn't mattered so I haven't worried about it. I didn't with my last auto grow and they were healthy.

I'm a bit stuck in guessing what it might be as there's quite a few things going on now, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

The PH level of the water may be the case. Judging by the tips looking burnt and curling I'd say way too many nutrients so at this point just keep watering with properly PH'd water and see what happens. Usually with super soil you don't need to add anything else just plain PH'd water. You may have overdone it. When the tips are burnt they don't recover so added more stuff to the soil may have made it worse.

at 4.5 months it is normal for the plant leaves to die off even at the top of the plants depending on the strain...most strains are usually being harvested by that time so I'm unsure as to why this strain hasn't fattened up yet or are all the pictures at 5 weeks?

at what point did you notice that the buds weren't fattening up? Again usually with super soil you don't need anything except decent water like rain water. the plants age is a concern if the other pic is what the bud sites look like...doesn't look like they progressed at all when compared to the pic at 5 weeks!

I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.

thanks for your reply, sorry should've clarified, all photos are at week 5 (currently). outdoor harvesting time is about a month away (start-mid april) in my region, so maybe they will fatten up a bit before then but I don't think they'll be anywhere near enough for harvest. I was told some more nutrients to help build the buds & assist with flowering (p,k etc.) but I don't really want to burn it anymore. The thing is I really haven't added many nutrients to the soil other than the sulfate of potash, which I wouldn't think would cause such a severe burn? they were all healthy during veg etc. and just started showing some problems during flower.

If you've got anymore Supersoil, you might want to topdress with it next time, couple of inches of it in your pots and water it in real slow.
You still want to ph, your water in between 6.0-7.0.
By harvest time Your buds will be alot bigger, the last 3-4weeks they really swell up.
        GoodLuck with them.
