Im really new and fabric pots are very new to me.😳🙂 This is only my third year. Last year our of 4 plants I got one female. This year I made sure I got feminized seeds🙂

Fem seed is going to help you. I am new to these pots as well, I am using 3 gallon for mothers, and inside grows mostly for my back. I have 7 gallon that I have been using inside and will continue to use. The 20 gallon are going outside for the summer and not coming back inside, mostly for my back!
Once you have a stash built then you can play with bag seed or reg seed if you want, it can be fun, you just dont know what you'll get good poor exciting. My bag seeds hermied, I'll get some smoke, (I have plenty) and the seed will be feed to the chickens, shame they have a wonderful skunk smell to them.

Even dry those 20gallon bags are too heavy for me these days. A simple 2cu.ft. Bag of coco loco or fox farms is a chore. My friend use 15 gallon bags last year and. The plants were so tall outdoors, she had to dig holes in the ground to lower them ...the were taller than her 6’ stockade fence. Not cool by her location... substantiates the theory on a larger bag growing a bigger plant..👍Joined September 2018 but after 1000 posts needed to reset user name. I cound’nt count that high. GardenLady I got 15gal plastic with lots and lots of drill holes. Our neighbor planted large trees he was going to dump them I can't stand dumping plastic it's killing me not being able to recycle so I took them. But I use 3 an 5 gal fabrics inside and outside for autos. If you get those with handles at least someone can help lift.Smoke Ganja create Peace Respect Nature don't trash the Planet

Thanks for you input Budgal. I will be planting them outside again so will try to use 10 gal. at least. And if need be I can move them around or put in greenhouse in the fall if threat of frost... it's heated now so won't be a problem.Last edited by GardenLady; 03-09-2020, 06:10 AM.

GardenLady heck we can't trust forcast unless it's august right? We just gotta prepare for it. I sure hope we don't though. I'm just going to get these photos 3-4ft. in their containers before I set them out from GH.

i also use fox farm but i add a third perlite to it. The roots like a lighter soil and the perlite adds small air pockets.

stump exactly I've seen growers use 75%perilite and good old composted soil mix and grow in 30+gal containers. Hmm this gives me a idea for just one photo plant I may give this a go just for the heck of it. I got the goods i'm going to do one for experiment.

Just bear in mind that your nutrient retention with so much perlite will need to be monitored as the lesser soil volume won’t support the convention measure quantities. There should be a compromise on the mixJoined September 2018 but after 1000 posts needed to reset user name. I cound’nt count that high. Farmall2 is smarter 🤓

Ok. I have another question. I have some canvas tarps just laying around. I was wondering if I tried making some grow bags from canvas if the would be ok for the plants. I mean it's fabric. And since I have time on my hands I thought I could try that. Do you think that would work and would the fabric let the roots breath etc? Can you tell I freaking bored???

GardenLady , why not, the durability may come into question for longevity and my bags, while mostly felt, some are a canvas blend and obviously cotton. Sturdy machine I hope and not a Featherweight

GardenLady I made a few covers for my outdoor junk from SUNBRELLA fabric. I used a black nylon thread and even some woven Dacron. Lasted a long long time, years

Oh great. I will look into the thread. I think Joann fabric store is still open here .
