    Lighting

On my second grow, and decided to upgrade my lighting to a Mars Hydro TS 600w. Really excited to get it set up. I’ve been using a pretty cheap Yinatech (that did a decent job). I’m wondering how big of a difference I’ll notice in growth.

So what type of lighting do you use? Have you tried other options out there? If so, what made you go with your light of choice?

What size tent are ya in?
I have 2 of the TS 600 & a TWS 2000 to cover 4x4. My plants love them & the only upgrade I would ever make from here would be to a light strip setup.

I’ve got a 2x2x4. Wondering if I should keep my old one in there with the new one...?

They claim it'll flower 1.5x1.5 ft area so it probably wouldn't hurt to keep the old one handy in case you do need it but so far mine look like they're plenty.

Says it's 100 watts, so I'd say it should have enough output to cover a nice single plant. Let us know how she does.

gbauto yeah that kind of scared me at first. But supposedly it’s some fancy quantum board that is much more efficient. It has some really good par ratings so that’s what I think matters most from the research I’ve done. So if all goes according to plan, I should have a more powerful light and lower electric bill! 🤞🏼At the end of the day, it’s not going to work well by itself on anything larger than a 2x2. I’m just wondering if having the additional led (my old one) in there will be too much for the plants. Everything I read says you can’t give a plant too much light, but that just doesn’t sound right.

You can give a plant too much light so you’re correct. However there are many variables and in a typical homestyle grow, it is more likely you can use too much. You can control some things.... atmospheric conditions in the grow space with CO2 and humidity would help plants utilize the extra light but not many go through those steps. Spectrum plays a big roll indoors as well and some of the new light strips cover this range really well. It can be a technical challenge to mix and match lighting but several here are into it and getting very good results

I hope you like that new Mars Hydro as much as I do mine. Last year I closed up my basement grow room (got way too expensive) and downsized to an UPstairs 2x4x6 tent. I, too, did a ton of research and went with the TSL 2000. It's 40 inches long by 10 inches wide and just rocks the hell out of that little tent. It'll veg 3x5 and bloom 2x4, and that's exactly what I was looking for. Even though the comparable Spider Farmer was about fifty bucks more, I was told that the Mars had a better width footprint (it does). And I hate to say it, but if this was my husband's "hobby" we'd no doubt be rockin' HLG or Kind. But this was MY pick, my money, and I love it! I'll just bet you will, too.
