Would this work? First timer here

    Hey guys,

I have been growing vegetable from seeds for a while and got my hands on some cannabis seeds. More precisely feminized Qc 20:1 and CBD Blueberry. I have read about the different ways to get seeds from a female plant, without using a male ( Coloidal silver, GA, stress). My plan is to start from a seed with a 18-6 light schedule until the plant can be big enough to cut some clones. I use these clones for my outdoor production. They should be able to go outside third week of may. Once I have some clones, I let my mother inside on a 18-6 light schedule for couple weeks so she can recover. Then, I switch her on a 12-12 light schedule for her to flower and I let her go past harvest until she produces male organs out of distress and pollinates herself. This way, I would be able to get seeds from her. I do not have the option of keeping a mother plant year long. If I do chose to grow a mother, I would use one of my clone just before it gets into flowering stage and cut a second generation clone from it and bring it inside on a 16-8 ratio until next year.
Do you see any flaws into this plan?
I know it depends on the strain but what would be your guess on the time needed to go from seeds to a plan that we can get clones from?
Then, how long would it takes to go from a clone to a viable outdoor plant on the third week of may?

    Cheers

My thought is if you have a light capable of keeping a plant alive why do you just perpetuate grow.. using clones?

I do not want a plant inside the house at all time. It's easier for me to go from seeds as I am already doing it for all my veggies. That's why I was aiming for a seed harvest. Also, I am rather curious and wanted to try it this way to see if it works.

Rodelization does not always work to make them hermie, I just sent 6 plants to the end of their life and not one male flower.
CS, dont smoke the weed from the plant this was sprayed on. And there are many many things that can be used to create hermies, aspirin, willow tea etc..
And as to using the female pollen on the plant it came from stands a good chance of bringing bad genetics forward. Yes it will make seed, but you will need to watch them close for hermies! If you have a friend you can get a cutting from it would be far better to use 2 plants to make seed with.
A clone takes ~10 days to make roots, and ~2 weeks to start growing in the medium and be ready for you to plant. Times vary per strain, some are easily cloned and others are hard.
    Good luck and enjoy!

Hiya mate. I've just finished my first grow. I hermed one of my plants but messing around with the light schedule when she was in about the 6th week of flower - an hour early one day, 2 hours late the next, off early, off late. Then I kept an eye on her and removed the majority of pollen sacks and then one branch produced seeds (about 40) while the rest produced normal buds.
I've now got 9 of the seeds down with another 5 random seeds my mate give me and they all seem to be doing well.

Edit - it hermed by accident due to my laziness, not some expert plan, but I then made the best from the situation.

So even if it does herm, especially toward the end of flower, would the seed actually have time to mature? From what I've heard it's something like 41 days for a seed to mature. Maybe some of the more experienced know a little better? If that's the case though, you may end up with green seeds and they won't be useable. I've had some herm in the first few weeks of flower and they still drop a few green seeds but most of them are mature. I love finding them in my weed, free plants! I'll have plenty out of this last grow to keep the 3 strains going for a while, just from a few oz (still working on bigger yields). I'm hoping I will have the same luck with the next round because I have 9 different strains going. Would be really nice to get a few seeds from them for future grows. Some of them, all I had was 1 seed so if they don't produce any, that will be it if I don't clone. Anyway, I hope you get the help you are looking for. Welcome and happy growing!

I give the seed 6-8 weeks to mature, some strains can be ready in 4 weeks,,,
