    So this happened

So I waited till after supper time to go into the grow room the other day and when I opened the door I find 2 of my plants fell over from their own weight. I have 2 trellis nets in place supported from a small diameter pvc frame that I built. When I say fell over I mean pretty much laying on their sides. I panicked and started trying to stand them back up as carefully as possible. My biggest gelato split right in half on me and this is the outcome of the surgery I preformed. It's been 2 days since it happened and everything is still alive so I hope I saved her. She's only got about 3 weeks left.

May want to add some cross support a bit higher up. The moment arm created by the weight so far away can be deceivable.

I've had main stalk splits and not known until harvest. Most anything can be repaired unless it just falls off.

This is why I keep adhesive tape in the grow room, and it has worked every time when I break a branch.

I split one and tied it much like in the pic, my wire is white LOL, they get over it as if nothing happened.

It doesn't seem to have done anything to the plant. Tough plants I tell ya

I had a similar split this past week. After the repair I grabbed a couple plant yo-yo's and they are surprisingly helpful at keeping the weight off the damaged area.

That's a good idea. Thankfully my trellis nets are holding the weight. My problem was I didn't secure my pvc frame with anything. I'm going to glue it together for next grow. I just liked the idea of being able to disassemble it for storage when I'm not using it.
