Hello, my ‘sweet & savory’ seedling Just sprouted yesterday! Looks dry to me? Was expecting it too be a luscious green. The medium is wet/moist, temp: 70-76f, fluctuating humidity: 55-65%. The seedling is resting in my small grow box with a low 15w LED bar and fan. Is it ok for it to appear dry? Should I be misting onto the seedling with a spray bottle? I can provide a pic but don’t want to interrupt the box’s climate at the moment. Thanks for reading!! ✌️

Seedling too dry?

Seedlings can handle a little bit of over watering better than established plants but that’s no reason to overwater. If you have some growing experience, than check the knuckle deep test to see if the soil is moist further below, additionally unless you have experience with the 15w led, my own preferences would be a 23w led at 6500k. It’s the 100w equivalent and on the bluer side of the spectrum. Sets the seedling up for strong “baby steps”

Awesome! Thank you! This is my fourth grow but surely to be my first harvest now that I have everything from the very start. I’m planning to use what I have with the 15w led until the seedling reaches vegetation stage, then I’ll be utilizing my 150w HID Metal Halide, then 150w HID High Pressure Sodium for blooming. Thanks again ✌️

Actually, I’m gonna go ahead and pick up a CFL bulb of 23w 65k since it’s cheap. Thanks for the tip

D.A.A.S.69 told me about it and it has been something I will never change. It has worked flawlessly. I’m only passing it along. BTW....you can place it 3-4 “ above the seedling and run it about 3 weeks

My successes follow this format: germinate by 24 hour water soak, paper towel in dark warm area in an inflated baggie. Plant seed in 16 oz solo cup and under the cfl 18/6 hours for 3 weeks... transplant into 7 gallon fabric bags with Supersoil.
‘’it has proven to work the best for me. I have also done DWC in a similar way. Keeps the seedling from getting spindly and the cfl bulb can be 3-4” away from the leavesLast edited by Farmall; 01-29-2020, 05:55 PM.

Yeah I got a 4 pack for about that much. Currently I don’t have a setup for 4 lamps at a time but will go ahead and try LED bar on top of the CFL. Will probably catch signs of light burn in between waterings

@Mass 117 where you at in Mass, I'm north central in Gardner, Hortilux has a very expensive super veg bulb ,I think they come in a 2 foot,I use 4 feet length they are just amazing ,they did so good I bought 4 more to put in all of my t5 lights . if you place the seedling container in a pan and put a very small amount of water in the pan it will encourage root growth, also I give my seedling a weak mix of grow and voodoo juice .
Farmall knows what he is doing so I would feel confident in what he recommends as well .good luck and welcome to the forumnew grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds
