Yeah, a soldering iron and $3 worth of shrink tubing would save about $17 worth of connections. The parts list allows for a completely solder free project.

I’ll add pictures shortly. The driver has a built in current dimmer that will allow for 115-360 watts. The boards are only rated for 75 watts each so 300 is the rated max with a 4 Board fixture. The usage monitor allows you to dial in the wattage.

Obi-Wan thanks for posting this. Do you have pictures? what is the Electricity Usage Monitor for. Is it dimmable?

HLG-QB132 300 Watt DIY Fixture Parts List

I had a couple inquiries about a parts list for this fixture I built so I decided to give it a dedicated post. The fixture is 38” long x 12” wide and weighs about 10 lbs. with the driver attached. I’ve included links to HLG’s website as they provide links directly to Amazon for the DIY products they recommend as well as multiple driver options that are compatible with the QB132 boards.

    1-4 pack HLG-QB132 boards 3000k or 3500k regularly $140, on sale now for $129
    1- Meanwell HLG 320H-C2100a driver, $105-$110
    1-10 pack 2-way Wago connectors, $7
    1-120 volt power cord, $10
    1- 25ft. Roll 20gauge solid core 300 volt wire, $10
    1-2 pack IP68 cable connector, $10
    3- 4’ sections 1/8”, 3/4 aluminum angle stock, $30
20- pan head screws with hex nuts,$7
2-eye bolts with hex nuts, $5
1- Kuman Electricity Usage Monitor, $15

    Total Cost = $350+/-

    Tools required:
    Small metal saw/hacksaw or better
    small Phillips head screwdriver
    measuring tape
    drill & drill bit set
    wire strippers
    sharpie

There are opportunities to lower the cost if you are like me and have old electronics and or parts from other projects laying around. Any grounded 3 prong 120 volt power supply would work, simply cut the appliance end off and it’s exactly what you’re buying in this case. The frame can be made of anything durable and the Wago’s could be replaced with wire nuts. The provided list give a nice finished look with safe electrical connections.
