    Drying your Buds question

I may be putting the cart before the proverbial horse since I'm only about 11 days into 12x12. But those of you who hang your grow in a tent, do you leave the Exhaust fan ON for the drying?
3'x3'x6' Cool Grow Tent and Large Wooden Cabinet
3 and 5 Gallon Fabric Pots
    Coco Coir with 30% Perlite
    2-450 watt Vipar Spectra LEDs
4" Exhaust with Vivosun Fan and Carbon Filter
    6" Oscilatting Fan
GH Flora-Trio Nutes with Cal-Mag and GH Liquid Kool Bloom

Hi there SR, good question: you can't know the answers to too many questions about what's coming up when you're flowering Cannabis. I don't use a tent, but here are the principles of the ideal dry:

    1. Drying area should be cool and dark with air circulation, but not wind.
    2. Ideal temps 65-70 F, humidity 50-60%.
    3. You have to fine tune the environment according to your own temp and humidity conditions. If it's too hot and humid, that can mess up the drying process.
    4. A longer dry is superior to a too short dry: if colas can dry in the right conditions over 3-7 days, it's better than drying buds in 24 hours.

JuanHondo Thanks Juan! Sounds like you have a great setup.

Water will be evaporating from your plants in a very closed space. If you don't have an RH controller, you should just leave the fan on, otherwise, your tent will get all sweaty and then MOLD.

I would get an RH controller myself if I didn't just string my stuff up across the ceiling in here with no regard to smell or humidity, and put it up when its "pretty dry", ie, sugar leaf pulls off easily and with a light snap.
Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.

Yes. But I turn the speed a bit down. As long as you maintain the RH and Temp at 50-60% and 60-68F, respectively, you should do fine.

Amen, brother. Doesn't have to be a vortex, just light breeze to change the wet air out.

A small amount of air flow is needed and just the exhaust fan on provides that. The temp and RH will dictate how long of a dry you have.
