Who all has had significant success with the Std 1000W LED's. Either white full spectrum or blurple, and then upgraded to quantum boards? What was your experience? Was it worth it? I've had a pretty good grow with my cheap LEDs but am expanding a little and will be buying some new lighting and debating which way to go.

Only my opinion....Ive been there and done that and while I’ve used some sophisticated and pricey full spectrum LED’s an cheap Chinese blurples , if your growing plants that look this nicely, you’re not gaining a whole lot more in the switch. One the other hand CMH for the money does produce some really nice bud. Only real tests would be side by side and then TESTING the cannabinoid profiles. Your buds are nice...do the have a great potency? This could be a variable. My only test is me

I'm with Farmall I use a blurple and white led side by side in the same tent, was thinking of an upgrade to something premium - cobs, quantum, etc. Did my homework and CMH is the way to go in my opinion, great spectrum/power draw/footprint. I saw one up close at a local shop - didn't stain the eyes and heat was minor. Your plants look exceptional, if your happy with the out come you know what they said - don't fix it if it ain't broke. I'm not convinced that 'decent' leds vs quantum offer any substantial improvements for the price, only my opinion.*4x2x6 for veg with HLG65 4000k x3
*2x2x4 for mothers with HLG65 [van helsing, master breath, white mo, pineapple express]
*custom 4x4 closet for flower with HLG260 + 4' T5 (x4) - agromax bloom led x2 + agromax 6400k florescent x2 {440watt totall}
*8 site clone bucket with 20w cfl
You never know when you might need a little C4

My own experience with CMH has shown it performed beyond my expectations for 3-4 pots and does not throw off tons of heat. In fact in a colder area that I used in winter, it could have been helpful to get the extra heat but the hood does not really produce the temperature. One thing to bear in mind, I did replace the bulb with a Phillips Master Grower that was near $90 and took a while to get it sent out and I do use a programmable Cloudline T-6 exhaust fan through the hood for ventilation. On it lowest setting temps never reached 64F in a 60 degree ambient room

I’ve run just about every kind of light at this point. Cheap LED’s, cheap COB’s, CMH, HID and now Quantum boards, always searching for the holy grail of grow lights. They pretty much all grow good bud, it’s just a matter of how many you need and how many watts your using. If your lights work for your space and you’re comfortable with the monthly bill, I see no reason to switch. Personally I’m on a quest to grow as much high quality weed as I can for the lowest possible hit to my wallet both now and on a monthly basis. This far HID has been the best balance of cost and quality. I’m sure if I had spent more money on a higher quality CMH fixture it would have been equal if not better. Like most fixtures you get what you pay for with CMH fixtures and bulbs. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it unless you think you can make it better!!Failure is an opportunity for improvement!!
