    Plant watering in Organic medium?

In reading about a "swick" water system for vacations etc.. I came across a statement concerning Organic soil gardens.

    Basically it stated:

The wet and dry watering cycling isn't the best for organic soil. They were suggesting the swick type of watering for everyday use.

Does anyone have any experience with not using the "wet and dry" method in Organic grows?

Would Kind soil as well as Ocean Forest be considered organic soils in relation to your question? If so, then I've been doing a daily watering on my current grow in those mediums, but never watering to runoff. Top only gets slightly dry (there's always a fan blowing across it), but the medium stays moist pretty much always. So far have seen great growth and no real issues other than the hot soil providing a little more nutrients than the young plant needs.

I believe they would be, if you used organic products which rely on the soil micros and bacteria to process the nutrients.
The thought was a "dry" soil stops that process.
I never water to much run off- but I do let the soil get very dry and wonder if I should tone it back a bit.

I mix my own soils and have never looked at the commercial products specific to weed so can't know what the difference is. I use various amounts of backyard compost, decayed wood chips, and commercial "organic" potting soils. They all work. The woodier mixes I'll add chicken manure.
I'll water to moist, then let it dry, and a few times a grow saturate. In nature conditions vary, so I like to mix it up as well. I think it is more likely that first time growers will over water. I am always amazed how dry I can go and the plants thrive.

I like the logic in your approach.

I do probably the same thing, at least in reads like what I do. I add earth worms, on purpose now, the first ones were carried over accidently from adding worm casting.
I never water to runoff, just wet real good and let dry. If I flood the pot it drowns the worms. Droopy leaves will let you know the plants are thirsty, It does not take to long to get a feel for when and how much to water.
