Been extracting my trim using Ethanol and I have created a process that I would like to share. I noticed if I took a few ounces of trim at once and doused them all with ethanol, the process took a long time to boil off and the yields were not that great.
Second run was lower quality and even lower yields than the first. (Second runs were more sedative though).
So here is what I do... I only will douse one Oz at at time. I filter the THC/ethanol mixture and refreeze it. I will reuse the mixture again for each successive ounce (first runs only). This way a small amount of ethanol is being used (less boiling time to yield) and the yields are much better because the oils are more concentrated in the smaller amount of ethanol.
After the first run, I dry out the trim and will decarb for the second run (making eatables with the second run gives a more sedative effect). I infuse the ethanol for the second run to make a green dragon type tincture. This can be taken orally or used to make a multitude of different products.
Let me know what you think.
Happy extracting everyone!!
