#3 pots can I use for entire grow.

Ok I got a 2x4 gorilla tent with 2 platinum P300 and 5 indica dominant strains in #3 pots. Can I use for entire grow cycle. Or will I need to transplant to #5 pots.

Keep them in the #3 pots for the entire grow- they will do fine.
There is controversy on pot size in indoor soil grows-
The author of the medical marijuana guide- just ran a comparison 2 gal v 5 gal and found little difference in the crops. He is switching to 2 gallon pots for his commercial operation.
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

A lot is dependant on the media you're using. With coco you can grow in much smaller pots, just have to water less but more frequently.

Your plants look very healthy. We thought we could get through our entire grow in 2 gallon pots, but they became root bound. I would suggest doing the flip to 12/12 before plant is the size that you want it. It will continue to grow upwards and outwards after the flip but before it starts to bloom. If you let them get too big before flip, I fear you may need to transplant. just my 2 cents and every grow is different.

I am using coco with fox farm nuts and cal-mag and kangaroo.
Also will it hurt to turn my platinum led with bloom setting in veg mode or should I wait it does give it that extra bump of light?

I'm going to use coconut + perlite my next grow I'm a bubblehead though.

I bought the 5 gallon pots for a good reason you want the roots to be happy just cruising along in that pot the happier the roots the bigger the plants (buds) a pot bound plant will not do, that why take a chance?

Veg mode is a spring lighting.....Flower setting is a summer setting they are very different. Veg is needed that kind of light

I'm thinking the same on pot size (5 gal) to keep plant roots happy. But give me enough science (controlled experiments) saying that cannabis prefers to be rootbound, and I'll size down soon! 🌿

I agree Rock maybe with the Auto's I'd go 3 and Photo's 5. But we need those free seeds to experiment and play like the big boys! LOL

Funny how those freebie seeds make us more willing to experiment. I'm thinking same of you Karlee, smaller for the autos, stick with 5 gal for photos.

Huh! Really? I would suggest 5gal smart pots in coco/perlite...when I harvest and cut pots for green waste the roots fill the space. And yes, depends on how you feed/drain/ and size of growing space.

Of course Gordo grew in a solo cup with success........but that is extreme and while she looked healthy, had a smaller yield.
