I'd say sterile when it leaves the cloud, but when it gets to the ground.. depends on whether you live in the P.N.W. or Detroit.

muff Thats what I do, build a good living soil, use natures water and natures lights.
BTW I hear not to use rain water, but where did the water in those lakes come from? Yes they do filter it, but they also add a ton of chemicals.

Hello everyone! I didn't know a lot about rainwater, or rather about what affects its pollution. But, now I started to study ecology and global environmental problems. By the way, if you are also interested, here I will always find out more info regarding ecology. Hope it was helpful to someone too!

As far as I know all rain starts off with particulates of dust as a base of formation it also picks up other contaminants on its way down, pollution, bacteria, etc. so rain on the downwind side of metropolitan areas will contain increased amounts of impurities. Ever notice how after a good rain the air seems fresher/cleaner? The falling rain removes these airborne particulates and gases thus filtering the air and all that ends up in the rain water.
Soil - NFTG, recycled & amended.
Nutes - NFTG - modified regiment, SLA-100, Photo +, Mammoth
            Veg - 4x4 tent, TSW2000, TSW1000 6”vent
            Flower - 4x4 tent, TS3000W, TSW1000 6”vent
            Dry - 2x4 tent, 6”vent

Hey Phlash I had to take a doubletake on your handle. I though it was Phish.
I know about the particulate matter causing rain drops. Maybe that's part of my initial question. At some point, there can't be so many particles. After a heavy downpour, say, the air is washed. Dust on the ground is heavy'd. Then what causes the heavy downpour an hour later?
This is getting into stoner logic.
              C'mon, mule!

Gingerbeard same process applies, water will condense on the particulates at the molecular level until they fall, they will also accumulate moisture along the way. For all intensive purposes there is an infinite amount of dust in our atmosphere for this cycle to happen.

Eternal dust? I can't argue with science. That seems like a gawdawful lot of crap.

Water is water. Water is the universal solvent. Given enough time it will dissolve anything. Water is the elixir of life. With out water there would be no life and we would not be pondering these things. And it is 4:20, time for a break.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.
