I've got 3 gal. You can use this for scale. It fills to about 7.5 inches
      Grow and good luck

I want to switch to smart pots but saw that it's recommended if you would normally use a 3gal regular pot then you would use a 5gal smart pot and I thought that was too big for my grow area. So a 5gal smart pot isn't as big as a normal 5gal pot then? Or is it just taller and not as big around? It's a little confusing.

Find a grow store and check them out in person to get an idea!

I wish I could, I live in the sticks. 5 red lights in my little town and it's a 25 min drive for me to get to town!
There's one little country store out here and it closes at 8pm, if you fk around and miss it you're driving all the way to town for a gallon of milk!
I'd say the closest smart pot is probably a 60 or 70 min drive. Love it out here tho...

you need a bigger smart pot than normal pot as the extra air from the sides mean more water evaporates and less for the plant to drink

Oh I thought it was going to be some type of challenging question for smart pot users.
Not smartpot users. I've never used smartpots. Guess I'll be on my way now. Duh...

Believe it or not smart pots are pretty decent and look to promote awesome aeration for root growth especially for autoflowers it would seem since its growth cycle is short any help to grow bigger roots =bigger plants and buds potentially
