Does light intensity impact growth primarily or potency? I understand that potency is strain and trichome ripeness in general but does light intensity play a part?

A good question and not one i'm qualified to answer...but...i would think so. Light is food. Food creates growth. Growth creates resin. It may not be directly connected to resin and potency but if the plant doesnt have enough food, i would think that potency would also suffer a bit. I doubt that, once you get to a certain intensity, it is going to be a noticeable difference but i imagine not having enough will effect the potency. Like i said im not qualified to answer but just thinking from the top of my head. Love to hear more qualified and experienced answers!Comment

Currently using fish/guano during veg growth & FF Grow Big 6-4-4 teens to bloom. Once i see pre-flower i switch to
Age Old Organics Bloom 5-10-5

Trying to wrap your head around lights can be overwhelming. The amount of research being done these days is yielding amazing information about color spectrum and it’s effects on plant growth.
I haven’t seen anything specific about direct light on buds making them grow bigger, just the anecdotal observations from experienced growers. When enough people all confirm the same observation, it tends to be accurate.There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)Comment
