Usually not. Most cases it needs to be chilled. What are your ambient temperatures like when the lights are on full blast in the heat of the summer time? Also, would be helpful to know what Ambient temps are like in winter when the lights are off?
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

Anything over 25°C is going to significantly reduce the amount of oxygen in your tank, 20-23°C is the sweet spot for nutrients & oxygen, so based on your other parameters you may even need to cool it down

60 F to 72 F res temp is ideal, but if your water is not below 50 F then i wouldnt worry. Usually lights and environment will keep it higher. Anything above 72 F and you have higher risk of root rot and algae, but if you add something like hydroguard it should be fine. If anything, i have a harder time keeping it cool than warm.

alwaystoned is also correct. The higher your temp the lower the dissolved oxygen so idealy you want to be below 75 F (23 C) or turn up the air pump to your air stone until the temps get lower. Thats what i had to do this summer when my res temp was maxing at 74 F when the lights were on.

Howdy Buds4949, Definitely not! The reservoir temperature should be kept between 65° F and 70° F during the entire grow. This will help to keep down the occurrence of root rot and help the plants take up the water and nutrients In natural soil grows, the temperature of the soil is lower than the above ground temperature.

            Agreed

keep res as cool as possible:
            Good for the roots
            A defense against root rot
Water physically can accept/hold more oxygen

I par-cooked my roots, let the res get to almost 25C (77F), lost most of the plant, yada yada
(learned about beneficial bacteria and res temps)

When you say 'hydro' which way are you looking? It's a big umbrella covering a lot of styles (dwc, rdwc, ebb and flow, I think coco counts depending how you treat it).

            just being nosey

I wouldnt have more than 2 or 3. Any more and you wont have space to train and the roots will start getting tangled. Thats why i do buckets personally.

You dont need nutes (or hydroguard), until you see roots hanging

                  What is your water source?
I use RO, so I have to use calmag.

                    hi Buds,

                    looks nice

just wondering what you're using those white drinking cups for? (they look like drinking cups).
it appears as though they sit snugly in a hole just big enough for them to fit in - the water topup/pH/ppm check hole?

seems like they may not keep out the led light enough...

                    good growing!

There’s like 6 of them to block out the light yes it’s a check hole
