    SOG

In sog what is the plant preparation do u lollipop?
    What is the minimum #of plants. I'm thinking 6 2gal in a 4x3

This tutorial shows you how you can use the practice of growing many small plants to increase your yields and get to harvest more quickly!

I can't do SOG because I'm limited by the amount of plants that I can grow.

I've been curious about SOG'ing in my 2x3. Theoretically, I could grow 6-1 gallon pots. But I would have to get something like a dwarf strain.
Although, with the current contest going on, what about an SOG of Solo cups?

I dunno LurkingInTheGrass. A dwarf strain with t5's in a Solo cup? Other than a domino effect, should one fall over, why not?
I'm going to watch to see what people do. Make sure y'all keep copious notes for me.

Exactly what are you looking for?

No article is helpful but I was looking for best training techniques for sog topping, LST or lollipoping

Taken from Sea of green page on this site:
"When using SoG, it’s up to you to decide how many plants and how big you let them get before you switch to the flowering stage.

Some growers flip to flowering when plants are just a few weeks old and a few inches high. Other growers may wait a bit longer to achieve bigger plants. If in doubt, I recommend waiting an extra week for the best result 🙂"

That means its whatever you want to do man. Do you want one big cola per plant or do you want several medium sized colas? Train accordingly. With one big cola cut the stretchy branches off center stem leave non stretchy bud sites. For several colas, top and lst (such as mainlining) just like you would do any other plant to get several colas. Lollipoping i think is essential for any grow indoors cause it improves air flow and gets rid of larf. Sometimes you gotta test to see what works best for you. IMO a true SOG is a short veg time and small plants cause to do anything different seems like just an ordinary grow to me. But then again i typically switch to 12/12 after a month of veg so take that for what it's worth.

Also from SOG tutorial on the site:

" How to Make Your Own Sea of Green
For this grow style, growers usually switch to the flowering stage when plants are around 4-6 weeks old. Plants switched sooner than 4 weeks may not have enough time to get the most out of an SoG setup. Adding an extra week or two of veg, so each plant gets bigger can make a pretty big difference in yields too, so it’s about finding that balance between getting to harvest as quickly as possible versus harvesting a lot of bud.

Many growers also “top” their seedlings by removing the tips of seedlings when they have about 4-6 pairs of leaves. Topping can increase the number of buds sites, but if you have enough plants, you will have enough bud sites. It’s often easier to grow fewer plants, so for a grower with time concerns, you can get a lot of the benefits of Sea of Green with fewer plants by simply topping your seedlings and giving them an extra few days or a week in the vegetative stage."

The point of Sea of Green is to have many smaller plants with a fast turn-over to flower. So a week or two of veg. That means no LST and lolly as those require more veg. You could prob fit 6 in your 4x3 and SOG those. With 2 or 3 plants and a longer veg you can do some LST and then have a need to lolly.

That foxfarm dirt will be fine as is.
