    HELP! Spots on stems

    Hi,

TL;DR - Spots on stems, plants in 1gal pots outside and never given nutes. Hot and humid climate, is this white powdery mildew?

I noticed last Sunday spots on the main stem of one plant. A few days before the sugar leaves had started to yellow. I thought the plant was dying since most of the leaves had already fallen off. I had a second plant that still had leaves but Monday I saw the leaves had brown spots. I was trying to give them as long as possible before harvest bc most of the pistils were still white. I decided to cut my losses and harvested both. While l harvesting I realized both had spots on their stems. The spots were not fuzzy or soft.

Pics below, the first 4 are of the first plant. The last 2 are of the second plant.

This is my first grow. These were some seeds I had found. They were in one gallon pots and they were outside by some canna lilies to provide camouflage. I live in coastal zone 8b, so its fairly hot and humid. I did not provide anything but water - no nutes.

Honestly, I grew these on a whim and wanted to see what yields I'd get from minimal effort. I later found this site and I have learned so much! My next grow will be much better planned.

I know this is long so thank you for reading!

SMH! I forgot the rest of the pix! The stems are of the first plant. The rest of the pix are labeled which plant.

I've never had powdery mildew. But, it doesn't look like what I've seen in photos. I think it looks hungry. You said you haven't fed anything. That's probably what it is. If you hadn't said that, I would think it's suffering salt buildup in the soil, causing acidification and nutrient lockout. That's pretty common in flower. (Lockout looks like not feeding).

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I have hard water so combined with not feeding and whatever was left in the soil after watering caused the nutrient lockout.

i think maybe fusarium or pythium (stem rot) could be the issue

Thank you! Just in case it is fusarium, do you think I should toss out the buds? They've already finished drying (they were very small) and I've started curing them.

no, i think you should smoke them, unless you have an immune system issue or weakening by treatment (like chemo) then you will be fine, the buds themselves werent moldy or limp or dead from what i see in the pictures
