How does one hold a bushy 7 ft plant upside down for spraying for thrips? They need to be sprayed directly.

Wouldn't attempt it. You can spray under the leaves with a standard spray bottle. I know it tends to spit air. Keep your bottle full and take your time. Bottoms first then tops of leaves. Use a thin layer of Diamothus earth( not spelled correctly)on topsoil to catch any pesky critters who will attempt to hide by burrowing Into your soil. -
