    HELP ! Dosing

For any number of reasons I always have trouble with the dosing calculator used for infusions. I have HIGH CBD ChemDawg with 22.7% CBD. I used 15oz of Coconut oil (450ml) to 25 grams of decarbed chemdawg. Based on the online calculators this now has 378mg of CBD per serving. If I use the 15oz and the total and it translates into 90 servings of 1 teaspoon each...it says there is 65mg of CBD per teaspoon serving.

so, OK....IM LOST. Does this look correct?

Not exactly sure what your question is, but let’s look at the math together.

You’ve got 25 grams of chemdawg, and it clocks in at (an astounding) 22.7% CBD. So that means that we multiply 25 (grams) by 0.227 (22.7%), to get 5.675 as an answer, which means of the 25 grams of ChemDawg, 5.675 grams of it is CBD.
Now that you know your CBD count, we simply need to convert it to mg, which is just 5.675 x 1000 = 5,675 mg (of CBD). Then we divide by the doses. If you took 5,675mg and divided it up into 90 servings, you’d have 5,675 / 90 = ~63.05 (mg of CBD per serving).
The strength of the solution remains the same no matter how you divide it up. It’s always going to have 5,675mg of CBD total. You used 15ml of coconut oil to go with it. That means if you divide your total CBD (5,675mg) by your total coconut oil (15ml), you get 5,675 / 15 = ~378.33, which means you’ve got 378.33mg of CBD per 1 oz of coconut oil.

So really, the thing to do is to calculate how big you want your doses to be. Say you want 100mg of CBD per dose (I have NO idea how much is a normal dose... 100 is just a nice round number). So you start with your total CBD (always) at 5,675mg and you divide that by 100mg (your ideal dose). 5,675 / 100 = 56.75. So you’d have almost 57 doses of 100mg of CBD. Now you need to know how much coconut oil that is (so you can measure out each dose). So take your 15ml of oil and divide it by the number of total doses you calculated (57). So 15 / 57 = ~0.26. So you’d need 0.26ml of oil to get a dose of 100mg of CBD.

Does that add up for you? If not, tell me how much CBD you want per dose, and I’ll calculate it for you.

Phew ! Thank you so much for being a math wizard... They asked me once how big my square footage was for paint...I said. “ This Big “ 😇

Actually, I’m guessing I have the calculator understood ...I KNOW my biggest fear was in OVER DOING the amount. I did that once before with Bruce Banner and the world came crashing down. Fortunately, I knew more of what to do in that situation and all it did for me was to ease the anxiety. I have no idea how mild or strong the infusions would be and THIS particular batch was lab tested for THC .3 and CBD 22.71. It is specifically grown for its CBD values.

I know Ive said this before...I really like your growing combo. I am SO tempted to set up my 315 in another grow but it is quite HOT here this summer and I am going to wait till fall.

In the support of a friend who told me KIND company was rather rude to the questions posed... I use Natures Living Soil ...and I cant say I’d ever go back to conventional soils again...The routine of watering and pH has made my days so easy by not mixing nutrients.

ONCE AGAIN.... THANK YOU FOR WALKING ME THRU !!!!

Man, I hear ya on the soil. It’s perfect for beginner and pro alike. I mean, I can understand why someone would choose hydro or some other non-soil media, but if you’re going soil, it’s awesome.
Sorry I mistook the nature of your question, lol. I didn’t mean to math out on you for no good reason. I don’t know much about CBD dosing, unfortunately.

Nah....no mistake.... math has usually been a strong part of my brain..but you know how weed can mess with your mind, ha, just kidding. I tend to believe my brain is functioning better than 30 yrs ago.

It seems too confusing for me to take a chance of overdosing after the previous incident. Not like I was freaking out but it was not pleasant so if I can have an answer that proves itself out, I have a start point rather than the deep end of the pool...

Again, I sincerely appreciate the help

If you are making infusions- you need to take into consideration how much of the THC/CBD is released into the coconut oil and how much is retained in remaining sludge after filtering <--makes great brownies!

It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

I have it on good authority that we are achieving near 90% infusion and possibly a touch more but I have a starting point, I can seriously narrow down the dosing. I hate to say where pharma has 1 advantage but when you get a pill with 325mg of something, you can up or down the levels with accuracy. I may need to learn chromatography to satisfy my need to know..just realized that this could be an oddk form of paranoia maybe?

Nice that I see stuff advertised in California where the levels are just printed on the package

When making coconut oil infused with cannabis= about 30% THC/CBD is retained by the coconut carrier oil initially-(the balance remains in the sludge)- you can increase it to about 50% by adding fresh cannabis product in the same quantity, as the original mixture and repeating the heating/cooling/mixing .
