    GWE recipe for super soil

I should of done this 2 months ago but hey it was snowing lol so I followed the recipe except for the blood meal because I didn't have time to cook it ,is there a different amendment I can use instead of blood meal when the plants are in the ground , I saw some feather meal that was 12/0/0 just like blood meal , I used all of the first batch and am now mixing a new one ,I need 20 gallons for my autos then I am going to cook it any recommendations on what other amendments, to add other than the recipe calls for,
Also is there a site out there that tells what each amendment does so I can read up on them, I dont have a problem adding anything I just want to know why lol

I have a site linked on my computer but wont be home for several hours. Ill try to get it to you by tomorrow. It is amendments for organic gardening or something. Or amendments that will save the world. Well corny name but good info.

Feather meal is great but it breaks down the slowest of all of the "meals." Fish bone meal or fish emulsion, cottonsead meal also breaks down faster. You live near the coast crab bone meal is good lower in total nitrogen but tons of other good stuff. Ill try to get that full breakdown of "farming with what you have." As the web site says. Also for light top dressing dont forget good old mother natures standbys.

oldjarhead100 Yeah there is. And its so hard to pick and choose the ones you want. When you finally get it all decided you end up second guess everything.

I too have blood meal to work in, I think I will wait until fall as last fall I planted several roosters (whole) a few rabbits, ground hogs, opossums, raccoons. Dont want to go to fast and get the soil to hot,,,, Feathers and hair are hard to digest, but a good hot compost pile will do it.

We'd do it just like the pioneers. Bury our fish carcasses in the veggie garden in the fall. Then here come the varmints gotta bury them deep LOL

In planting gorilla style, my fav find in the woods was where a cow fell and rotted into the soil. When we found one we would move the bones to one side, dig out the hole about 5 feet deep. The bones went to the bottom of the hole, followed by leaf mulch, cow pies, rooting wood, anything we could find. Toss it all together, and plant! We would get 20 foot tall plant from these sites!! The county sheriff walked right threw a patch looking for it, had to push the girls to the side to get through them,, still LMAO! (I ask him if he was looking down, BTW I won the bet)

oldjarhead100 This site helped me out a lot. It’s buildasoil.com they have everything you need and they will explain to you why you need it and when. Also in their web page you can scroll all the way down on their blog they have recipes and info on amendments. If your looking for nitrogen you can do a cover crop, clover is good at taking nitrogen off the air and putting it into your soil for your plants to use. Also you can use the alfalfa meal it a good nitrogen source. I bought mine at kiss organic.com it almost like buildasoil but some products are cheaper there compare prices and you will see. Another amendment and people have claimed it’s really good that they’ve grown buds just using this amendment and that is kelp meal but it has to be the brown kelp because there is 3 red, green. Brown. We need brown. Hope all this helps. I posted about Clackamas Coot soil mix not to long ago that’s what I’m using now. Look it up on you tube or online you will learn a lot from this, buildasoil, kid organic, clackamas Coot. Podcast and good reads. Good luck .
