indica or sativa doesn’t really matter. As long you have a strain around the 25% in THC.
CBD helps me relax, but not sleep at all. I find the THC more reliable for a good sleep.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm currently suffering from insomnia. I'll give your solution a try.

Anything grown to lots of amber, then decarb and extract, I take that an hour before bed time. I get 6-8 hours sleep this way, instead of 3-4. Most often the extracts are a mix of whatever I smoke.

I used to take sleeping pills. However, it's not safe as states Canada Drugs website, so I switched for more natural solutions. I need to say, this was a smart decision. As for me, THC works great, while CBD makes me, on the contrary, active.

I still haven't tried CBD for insomnia. I wonder whether it matters to use CBD oil or gummies. Did anyone try both?

Tincture of Indica two hour before lights out and I do mean out. Downside - Eliminates any dreaming. Upside - Eliminates any PTSD nightmares. I'm a wuss and can't tolerate sublingual torture, hence the two hours. My sweet spot is 3ml of a 38mg/ml THC and half a gram of the stripped bud mixed in yogurt. The slightly paralytic, slightly hallucinogenic sense of well being and euphoria starts kicking in about the 45 minute mark and intensifies to the point of being unable to stay awake at about the two hour. This and learning how to breathe has eliminated my sleep apnea induced insomnia and nightmares. I suggest to anyone not familiar with tincture to start very low and work your way up. Simultaneous projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhea can result from a cannabinoid receptor overload. This is MY experience. Results may vary.

Tinnitus is the reason for my bad sleep every night. No idea how to deal with it.
We had a long discussion with my family and it looks like checking hearing aids staten island is my only solution now.
The noise machine for the nights for effective at the beginning, but not anymore and every night is just a nightmare.

Sleeping pills don't put me to sleep but 2 Benadryl do. Weed only puts me to nap.
