    Using T5 for Veg

Is using t5 for veg better the a led light? I know there are million factors but if anyone has some experience it would be appreciated.

I use both. One is better than the other...really depends on your Application.
For example, LED requires more distance from light to canopy. This can be advantageous because you don’t need to adjust height as much as a t5 durring veg. But could be detrimental if your ceiling height is limited.
T5s can get really close to the plant.... might be good for ceiling height, but requires many more height adjustments durring veg
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

Thanks, I have a away to easily move the t5 up and down but I was under the impression it was a better light source for seedlings and early veg

So what I didn’t like about T5 for veg was the daily adjusting requirements I needed to do for optimal distance between light and canopy. So I use an LED or MH to veg. Took away the need for daily adjustments. But I still use t5’s for clones and seeds that are developing roots (aka not growing tall quite yet).

I think T5 is ideal for young plants. Just keep them close enough so that your seedlings don't stretch real long, and other than that, it's almost impossible to burn your plants with T5. I switch to "400watt" LED when the plants are about the size of my hand, veg for a month or 2 depending on how much I canopy I want, and then 315 watt LEC flower.

I got the Phillips Master Grow 3100k bulb and have been VERY happy with the results. Be careful and wear and hat with a wide brim and UV eye protection, and even long sleeves. I've gotten sunburned on my face, scalp and arms from working under it in the tent. But the buds have been OUTSTANDING, better than sungrown, in my humble opinion.

I got a sun system all in one, plug+play with the same bulb as u , thanks for the warning, about the light and for the recommendation on the bulb, it makes sense since the UV rays aren’t being blocked that sunburn would occur, and the weed also brings out more trichomes to protect itself with like sunscreen for your pot😁 got the hat and glasses all ready thanks again.

I vegged these girlies only under my T5s. This was back when I only used T5s, and an HPS. Lookin pretty good don't ya think? I called them the Seven Sisters. There were 8, but I gave away Pleione.

Another benefit of using T5 for the nursery: you don't need the protection while staring lovingly, obsessing whether you overwatered. I was going to say I spend the most time staring at my youngest plants. Other than light, but based defoliating like Nebula's latest article, I spend little time in my flower tent. But even my protected skin would get roasted if I spent that much time under an LEC.
