Help. Ready to quit growing

PuravidaC, I see you've gotten quite a response with your delima, but I can't help but chime in too. I started out growing Autos in kind soil and ran into much the same problems, and addition, some of the auto seeds were actually photos, and the nutrient content ran out around the second week into flowering. I had seedlings that were late, and with Autos ya can't mess with time. Small plants and small yields. Kind soil states that you CAN grow photos with it, but I found out differntly, So a few months back I made the decision to only grow autos with kind soil ( I had bought a LOT of it and have to use it up) and to grow photos with what I KNOW worked well: pro mix bx and Botanicare nutrients. These plants now, 3 weeks into 12/12 look FANTASTIC, and the autos in kind soil are small but all bud. They are AK48, and my current grow with photos are PurePowerPlant, and I'm thrilled with their progress. I have 6 wonder woman seedlings popped 5 days ago, and will clone a few of them as well as the PPP. Its been quite a struggle but I'm straightened out now! Good luck with what you decide to go with. I really like promix. Never been any bugs and plants do really well with that combination of Botanicare nutrients.

My first couple of grows were AK-48 (photos, not autos). I really liked the "daytime" high and they yielded more than any other strain I have grown!

Canna Coco ( or platinum Cyco coco coir. Both buffered) and Vigoro perlite,(3part coco to 1 part Perlite, 5 gal smart pots , 14” saucers to sit in, plant risers for feed and drain , Flora trio via gwe, blue lab pH pen.
White widow, Wonder Woman White rhino, amnesia haze all high yielded ...Ive grown them all. And Master Kush...and Aurora indica. Top, once or twice, fefoliate at least twice and LST.
Follow gwe directions for Flora trio and add Liquid Kool Bloom at transition into flower and then on

How important do you rate your blue lab ph pen? I use strips which are "eyeball" readings and figure any fluctuations, within desired parameters, is okay, even desired by some. Is the juice worth the squeeze of a $75 pen?? Getting low on my FF trio nutes so if I'm gonna make the switch to coco I might as well change nutrients too. I can get Flora trio locally but coco will have to be online. I'll find out where my friend gets his. I usually top my photos and have had to defoliate them multiple times. Topped my last autos once and dying leaves took care of defoliating for me! 😞 I prefer the way photos grow vs autos. As always, thanks for your inspiration and support!

I haven’t been able to post shit BUT, ..as is your ilk😜 I just recalibrated my blue lab today and ABSOLUTELY FIRM on it as in jump for joy. In the beginning I used the drops...that was total color bullshit..give it a few minutes thought...colored nutrients mixed don’t come up accurate as in color mixing. Red and green make a tertiary brown. Period. I am as passionate about blue lab as I am the rest. Saved my ass. It’s 80 something and then there is the 4 and 7 solutions plus storage solution. . I’m not techie and even I can calibrate. If you Skype I can walk you through calibrating with joy in my heart.
I have found that once understanding my tap water pH, and then finding my nutrient mix pH - for me pH down- is the same each time. I don’t need to use the pen each time. But today I decided to check my package and I AM good and you piped in.

I know you are an artist and I was an Art minor so I agree that color of drops can be a crap shoot at best!! I guess a blue lab pen will be added to my shopping list!!

I always read about people having a hard time reading the drops. Guess I have been lucky. I gave a cheap pen a try and had problems so o just stuck to the drops and problem solved. If you think about it people been growing way before the blue pen or any other pen. I just feel a pen is just another thing to deal with when my good ol GH drops do the job just fine.
