Bowhunterwoody Glad it worked out for the wedding and ya'll had a great time. The wedding party pretty much nailed peak foliage for scheduling.
Shame it rained, but can't do anything about that. I saw out of the last 16 of the past nineteen weekends -it's rained. Looks like rain for this coming weekend as well.
With the holiday weekend over it will be deadsville around here until ski season kicks off. My second home neighbors were up this past weekend,
first time since there was snow on the ground! I'll bet they use the house 10-12 days total out of the year.

So I'm completely surprised. left to it's own devices for the entire month of July on my deck, my house plant survived.
I expected a dried up shriveled stump (lol). I'll be here for a month and then gone again for the month of September
and I doubt it will survive again. I didn't start this one until late spring hoping to keep it a reasonable size.
Perhaps this is the key to success, plant it and forget it

I agree, I'm shocked. Maybe the guys mowing my lawn watered it, don't know. I've been giving a healthy dose of neuts for the past couple of days (got back on the 1st), but it didn't have much die off at all, couple few leaves and that was it.
Hope all is well with you, while I love the ocean it's nice to be back in the mountains!

That white tape is a good idea probably kept the roots from getting cooked. Nice plant

Black plastic pots are problematic in that regard, especially if you put them on concrete, pretty much guarantees a dead plant..They love the shade though and it's easy to shade them especially with a nice size plant in them.

Goldenrod and milkweed out in full bloom now and of course monarch butterflies. Couple few hairs on the house/deck plant showing now.
Shame her future is in doubt making it through Sept. on her own. dirtymike yes, that white tape helps immensely with container temp.

9 1/2 " of rain so far today in my town with another 2-3 to go. A few days like today and you should be all set. Crazy.

Bowhunterwoody I saw some pictures of the conditions down your way, wild stuff. We were fortunate here and the bulk went east of us.
But we sure have had some lousy weather since I've been back (and from what I hear, most of the summer).
Jeez, I scored a month of parking at the self serve LAZ Fly lot for $65.00, not bad <g>.

GreenState, yea lots of roads closed, lost some fill behind the garage from the white water runoff river I had. Those pics and videos are from my town. 10.51" officially. Just a crazy summer for weather. Lost 1/4 of the gg4 too. Snapped clean off. Now for the WPM. The joys of outdoor growing.

GreenState please post a review of the auto watering product. It looks to good to be true. I could not find a spec on time to deliver volume. It looks undersized.

Ckbrew I'll let you know for sure. I don't need a lot of volume for my purposes, only one plant. Hoping to get it a week before
I leave in order to try and dial it in. I'm basically looking for 1/2 gal every 3 days. Not sure I can set it up for multiple waterings on the same day though, which would be ideal. 1/2 then 15 minute later the second half, but we'll see. I do have a 15 gal container for the water (plus some neuts). I suspect the other issues one encounters with outdoor growing will get me in the end. But fingers will be crossed hoping the gods shine down on me <g>

If you can trigger its operation from the power supply, that is it runs when the power is supplied to it, you can automate it via a smart power socket and programing and scheduling what you want is pretty easy. Problem is that a lot of equipment cannot be controlled by the power supply and must be triggered by its own controls, but if you have the equipment it is easy to test for that.

Ckbrew definitely pretty under-powered, but should work good for my purposes.
2 nozzles will deliver a fat 1/2gal in 7 minutes so that's what I'll try every third day(might end up at 6 minutes). If it does overflow I'll put a pan under it to catch any overflow so it can absorb it from the bottom. I have time for a few trial runs before I leave.
PS: with no nozzles it pumps 1 gal in 6 minutes through 1/4" hose.

will mix a couple small batches in the cooler then which over to the large 15 gal one when I leave.

Just keep the top of the nute tank lower than the top of your soil. It will syphon if your tank is higher.

Bluey Thanks. Worked like a charm this morning for the scheduled 6:30 am watering. Quite pleased actually, no ponding at all, in fact the surface of the soil stayed dry and all was absorbed below surface grade. At this point, $40 well spent <g>.

Nice work. My tank siphons if I fill it with more than about 30 gal. A design floor when I was designing the room. I tried a few simple fixes but no joy.

To be honest I prefer and enjoy handwatering but it's a bit much given 5 big plants that require the equivalent of a quart every 90 minutes.

One last pic before I go. She'll be on her own for a month, about 2-3 weeks before a typical harvest
I give her zero to none chances of yielding anything smokeable. Think the watering system is dialed in, but it's WPM and bud rot I fear.
Anyhow, good luck to the rest of you

She's setting buds for sure. White widow, it likes to grow late into the season.
A bit taller than I was aiming for, but it's stretchy stuff, stretch seems to be close to over though.

            Get a CAM and follow.

So I mixed up 9 gals of watering solution for the auto watering system, should be plenty. Have already seen a few spots of wpm, removed the small branches infected and did a bit more defoliation but my hopes are not very high for the month ahead unattended. Such a shame as she's actually doing fairly well, decent plant structure for air flow, manageable size, I'm bummed to leave here, 'nough said. I also noticed the nutrients settle out of the solution. I've set the intake up a few inches of the bottom.
dirtymike I have cameras with the alarm system, but will let the plant have its privacy <g>
I lied, more pics beginning to get some puff balls --- also, had a visitor the other day. :O)
