    Defoliation Question

    Hey all!,

I'm a newbie here and entering week 6 of my first bloom. I started reading more of nebula's bloom articles and realized I didnt defoliate my plants at all, wondering if I should at this point or just keep things as they are? Any insight is appreciated

It can be done but before a say go! A picture of the plant in nature light would give a better idea for a suggestion.

Defoliating is a wonderful and great tool. Great fan of it but it is contentious plus there`s a few different options and even types like Schwazzing and Fluxing. The best way really is to do it gradually following Nebula`s guides over a few grows til you get a feel for it. For me it`s very effective on indicas. Careful to rein yourself in as removed leaves are lost but once you get it and it is trial and experimentation, it can make a big difference to potential yields. Problem with defoliation is that a) a lot of growers loathe it and b) it can be a frustrating skill to develop. D.A.A.S.69 gave me some really great advice once after I finished bashing my head into a wall repeatedly after getting it wrong-leave the outward facing on the edge of the plant fans as they`re not shading anything and only defol within the plant itself if you`re going to do that. Made all the difference. Anyway, good luck and all the best. Green75 is a truly excellent defoliator and has clips, etc on youtube but he really is up there on top of his game...worth watching but he is hardcore and I`d only watch til you had a few attempts at lighter trims under your belt as he doesn`t leave much attached

Week 6 is kinda late to get started. I assume this is an 8 week strain and not a 14 week one, right?
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

Defoliating is not mandatory. You should get plenty of great bud without it. Since you are a self admitted newbie you are better off foregoing it at this late date. Pay more attention to your bloom nutes, and the addition of molasses to your feeding schedule. Fattening up those buds is job one. Good luck on your first bloom.

If you are hard pressed to try it research the procedure for your next grow.

Welcome to GWE, You can tuck the fan leaves that shade buds, just tuck the leaves behind a branch or another leaf. Then on the next grow try removing some from the inside to expose the bud sites.
Good luck with your grow. Just letting it grow will also produce some nice bud and good smoke.
