 Hey Green75. I'm curious, why you love using such extensive defol- like what it does for the end harvest in your opinion, and if you've tried a solo cup grow without defol, or any comparison grows of defol/non defol? Thanks.Last edited by Weasel; 01-25-2017, 07:01 PM.

 This is so very cool. Green, you said you cut off your fan leaves "when they get big". Do you have a set point for when it's time for the fan leaf to go? Perhaps wait for the fan leaves on the adjacent new growth shoot to open up, or something? Is there a time when it's too early that it slows growth? I'm going to do this if one of my clones makes it.
 Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.

 Weasel ...I defoliate because I enjoy looking and breaking up big fat dense baby arm buds!!! :-) :-)..lol
 The buds love the light....the plant does not need all the leaves it produces...so I gladly help out in removing them...makes the plant always work hard...no lazy plants here...with my extreme lst making all kinds of nodes and bud sites it does not make sense to not defoliate....always want buds to be in full light
 I have been defoliating and binding marijuana plants since I was a young pup...started out doing it to get more plants in grow space...realized after a few harvests my buds were bigger...never stopped..
 I have never done a solo cup grow without defoliating..never saw the need
 . Have you checked out any of my other grows yet?

  DingusKhan ....I can't remember the last time I held a palm size fan leaf in my hand...long ass time!!
 My rules...if it blocks light from a bud site it's gone..
 If a bud site has two fan leaves....one is taken
 . I start cutting leaves from sprout...I wait till third node has fan leaves that are covering the first node...then I take the pair at the third....after that...standard rules apply...

 @Royal Nugs...yes she is growing quite well...considering

 today is day 45...day 18 from flip...

 Cool. Thanks for the explanation. Yeah I've wandered through them all and most of the threads on here, just don't post much. Everyone has their own preferences. I've tried it both ways and a few side by sides. Don't defoliate anymore - in the sense you mean anyway- I still do plenty of pruning with some strains. Defol seems to work well to increase yield with heavy indicas- Kush type strains which I don't smoke anyway, and the pure sativas hate it. It's a useful tool to have in the bag of tricks though sometimes.Last edited by Weasel; 01-25-2017, 08:55 PM.

 Weasel ...here are some pics of my past tent grow...100% sativa maui wowie....major defoliated their whole lives till there was almost nothing but sugar leaves..they absolutely loved it...I could not keep up on the trimming...actually I've never had a plant either sativa or indica not respond positively...

 Day 44... She has eight beautiful BUDS...with a month to go still... they will be fatties....she is either lsd our gorilla glue or liberty haze....all three are awesome strains so all good there...she gets feed with the other ladies in the tent and plain ph water inbetween....should be a good yield considering....
