    Finally Ripening

I posted 10 days ago about some autos that were taking a long time to ripen. Under the topic of Molasses... So here's where one plant is after using straight white sugar in the water. I increased the dose over time. The last pint of water 2 days ago had 3 tablespoons, which is 6 times recommended dosage.
The intense dark green finally migrated out of some of the leaves, the trichomes went milky with a few yellows. The tops are going purple.
I have no proof that the sugar played any roll whatsoever. But it doesn't seem to have hurt.
I needed the room in the tent, so this one was harvested this morning.

I recall the molasses discussion and discarded it as "weed wisdom".
When I took another look however, I was able to find some (university-Michigan?) validation that it is useful during the last 2 weeks, if you are only providing water.
The molasses will feed the soil organisms, so they will continue to extract nutrients for the now starving plant- I have added a small does per plant for the last two weeks of flower to my schedule.
As with anything- if there is no change/doesn't work- I'll stop using it!
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

Molasses contains carbs, potassium, iron, and a few other things. It feeds the microherd in organics and some say it's good for resin production due to the potassium-rich nature of it. I used to just use organic Blackstrap, but now I use Surge by Roots Organics to revitalize the microbial colony and for resin and terp enhancement.

For clarification. I was using straight white sugar. My experiment was to see if I could reduce available nutrition, especially Nitrogen. Ever since I heard about the molasses thing I've thought it was probably mostly the sugar that was active, and that rather than increasing nutrition, it actually depresses available N which is being used by the microbes as they break down the sugar.
When large quantities of any carbon source is added to a living soil, the available nitrogen is temporarily bound up in the digestive processes. My thinking is that the "weed-science" of using molasses might be worthwhile, but for entirely different reasons than is generally thought.
I'll know more in about 2 weeks....
