I'm having a slight issue with one plant. The bottom leaves are turning a pale green then dropping off. This particular plant is about a foot taller than the others and is at least a week behind in flower development. Any ideas on what this might be would be great.

I've got 4 plants started from seed being grown in a deep water culture set up. It's non recirculating. They are all on the same feed schedual of the advanced nutrient line. The plant in question kept stretching for a week longer than the other 3. The plant looks healthy except its dropping leaves like crazy and it's way taller than the other plants and the buds are behind in development. I'll attach some pics2 Photos

Looks like the lower branches are not getting enough light down there. The growth is slow and those nodes in the shadows are also are taking energy away from other areas that could utilize it more efficiently.
I try to remove lower growth that lingers in the shadows.4x4 600w HID empty for summer

Ya I've been trying to remove the small stuff but I'm afraid of stressing the plant to much. I did most of my trimming pre flower. Do you think it's OK to cut some lower branches this late in the game?

I would not cut it. It’s too close to the end of flower. You can train the branches, like suggested above... or (if you have enough lower growth like that), you might be able to remove the big tops, leave all the lowers alone and reveg them for quick a second harvest. It’s a delicate process though. I’ve only attempted that and been successfull a few times.
