The Optic 1 xl has caught my eye.

I'm an LED grower and was searching LED options which may last longer than 18 months (my worhorse LED faultered at that point) etc.

I have come across the Optic 1 xl which has a 5 year warranty amongst other claims of greatness, lol

When looking to purchase, I find several company names- that appears to feature one guy/company and it makes me weary- who will be around in 5 years.

Does anyone have experience with the Optic 1 xl or the following companies: GrowLightCentral, LEDgrowlightsdepot, Opticledgrowlights

Research is sparse, but it looks like this is sourced across the pond and most major high end LED manufacturers incorporate that companies products in thier finish LED's

Cant say anything about the company, but seems like a well built light. The chip is quite good, with around 1.7umols per watt (at 100w and taking losses into account). Really good heat sink and adequate optics.

I wouldnt buy based on any of their science. Because there is very little. It is just a well made heatsink with a chip slapped on and a generic optic lens on top. COBs are at a higher risk to fail because of the extra concentration of heat which is more difficult to cool through conduction. The extra heavy duty heat sink allows for them to increase their warranty compared to other products such as those from rapid LED.

Yes i see, where did you get the draw from ?. I personally like the migro lights. The diffusive lighting really is a superior feature in lighting. Most recent studies have had to take into account the differences created from collimated vs diffusive studies, as previous studies found fluorescents were yielding more than equivalent LED fixtures. Which was due to the natural diffusive characteristics of fluors.

Certainly the optic 1x wont be a slouch. Looks good, i would not complain using it. Would be perfect for veg lighting. One great thing about multiple small fixtures, is the ability to control the placement and limit the center hotspot, typically seen with singular fixtures.

Yea hes got balls hasnt he ^.^ Though hes probably just not full of ***** like many other manufacturers are and so is not afraid.

DIY is a good way to go, if you have the patience. Many good manufacturers have heatsinks that you can use for COBs. Just have to choose the right optics, drivers and heatsinks. The better they are, the more efficient it will be.

I decided to finish the current grow with MarsHydro 300w*** and the Optic 1 xl- (get my feet wet).


The Optic has a flower distance range @ 18-24".


*** As a side note- my g/f just finished her first indoor grow using one MarsHydro 300w- Auto Jack Herrer- yielding 89.5g dry!

Adding one Chilled Logic 100w puck v2 fixture (dimmable) to round out the Optic1XL:
In a 2x4x6 tent- potential to get very close to a pound/grow @ 200 watts consumption.

2019 is going to be a fun one!
