    Question for the seasoned growers

Hello, I'm new to the world of growing of cannabis, I have 4 plants and right now I noticed some..... well like "spikes/leaves" in my plants between the stem and the branches(if you can call it like that, since they are around 1 month old) I know it's early to know the sex, and I did some research and I think those thingies are the stipules I just want someone more experienced to confirm that, if possible

    here are some photos

    Thanks
    Pura Vida!!

I’d say stipules also, the preflower are quite microscopic until the 2nd week of flower.
      Grow and good luck

Those are stipules, my friend. According to some botanists, many plants have stipules to protect their preflowers while some simply possess them as vestigial body parts. If you would like to spur preflowers growth, I suggest leaving your plant in the darkness for up to 48 hours. This causes a build up of the plant hormone responsible for flowering. This hormone is created in darkness and "burns away" in the light. That is why we give our plants a 12-12 light cycle to spur flowering! When this information was new to me, I decided to try it on a Durban Poison plant I had going. Stuck it in the dark for two days and it began to produce preflowers in bulk that same week. Make sure no light leaks into your grow space during lights out though, that will create a whole host of other problems including but not limited to hermaphrodite plants. Good luck buddy, post updates!

Hmm you're right, growing outdoors does make it hard to control light schedule but you have the huge bonus of free and very rich light! I'm sure your garden will turn out beautiful no matter what you decide to do with them! If you have any more questions certainly feel free to ask, everyone here loves teaching the next generation of growers their craft

thanks, I will update about it, my biggest problem right now are some pesky racoons, because of that I can't leave the plants on the ground at night, of fear that they will dig them out
