What's good fellow growers? First grow log on the forum, I've got some White Widow and Gorilla Cake bagseed that I've sprouted. By now it's two and a half weeks into vegatation and things are looking pretty good. I've done a lot of things so I guess I'll divide it up so it's easier to follow what I've done so far.
Training: all plants were pinched at 3 nodes which causes auxillary budsites to start growing bigger. I originally planned to leave it at that but after about a week I decided to go ahead and just top them all after noticing that a solid four main colas had emerged on all of the plants. That was done today.
Setup: for my setup I'm running a custom grow tank design built from a 55 gallon hdpe drum. I torched a door and ports for the lights, fan, exhaust etc. I spray painted the inside of the drum with flat white spray paint and the outside in black spray paint. All the hardware was glued in with a glue gun and lot of gorilla tape. The lights run from two power strips and are using about 107 watts total, the fan uses maybe 10 watts which brings the whole set up to 120 watts. The humidity can easily be changed with a mister but generally hovers at 30-40% and the temperature stays at 80-85° with the fan on. Lights have been 24-7 since sprout.
Lights: I have a bunch of 16 watt LED cells most of which are 5000k daylight temperature. I have three lights that output 450-650nm light in the 2500k temperature as well as one that I have closer to a plant as part of a separate experiment.
I will post more updates here as they come about!
