So it was mentioned to me in a comment the other day that i should get a DNA test done on my plant to find out it lineage...since i dont know what the strain is. My plants super beautiful and if i could know where she comes from, then maybe i could grow her again one day. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, sorry to say that’s not how it works. Since the seed was bag seed, then I’m guessing pollination was accidental. So you can clone it, but you will never find an exact replica seed. You might be able to replicate the genetics, but some of her traits will always be different. It’s like those clone only strains, GG#4 & Thin mint GSC are good examples of this. Breeders can replicate the strain, but the particular phenotype can not be replicated.4x4 600w HID empty for summer

Here is the info. Is directed to industries but down in the instructions there’s a link to the kit. Basically you take a small branch. Clean it with alcohol and mail it

Hmmm. So you pay $300, and if your strain is not listed in their “Phylo galaxy” you get to create one (guessing). Looks like they can tell you closest lineage (wondering if that is also limited to their “phylo galaxy” strains). Even at that, closest linage might not be actual linage. I’m a bit skeptical about what I have read so far.
This might be ok for businesses trying to create their own unique strain, but doesn’t seem like a 100% accurate way to find out what the genetics are from a single seed. You could get lucky and have a strain that is already in their data base, but is that worth $300 to find that out?Last edited by Toker1; 10-28-2018, 10:29 PM.

Cool looking website!
Looks like they have a fair amount of genetic relationships mapped out, to.

She's a beauty, but I don't know of it would be worth $300.00. (is that the plant you were considering culling because you thought it might be a male? ) Making some seeds would be better than nuttin for a fraction of the cost. https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-to-...eminized-seeds An intoxicating alien beauty! Definitely reveg it after you harvest her. It's really easy to do. And just make clones. This was stated above but that's your best bet. You can also make clones during flowering but it takes longer.

Because you lose a month of so of growth on a reveg. Almost better to start over. Especially when dealing with clones. Now if you have a monster tree...yeah Redwasp you are correct. Just depends on size of growth. The plant mentioned in this discussion is def debatable about the reveg subject. The real question is, 1 months worth of electricity loss worth potentially saving this strain? We don’t know how this plant will respond to reveg after harvest. I know the Papya from Nirvana didn’t really like it when I did it.

Well, I'd say if it makes ya happy, go ahead and re- vedge, try to grow some seeds, maybe try crossing it with something else if you want, get ten diff phenos. Who knows, might really fall in love with one of them, to. Part of growing cannabis for fun, is HAVING fun! Might fail, and cost ya some extra power, but as long as your getting the bud ya need, and having a good time, go for it!
Kinda like having a huge family, with grand kids and great grand kids, only much cheaper, and in this case, chopping off there tender buds!!
