Wondering if anybody uses grow journal apps on a phone or tablet to track their grows? Have found a couple to try but wanted to know if you have a preference.

I use a calendar. No need to have app companies sending me crap and selling the information I put in there for my progress. My privacy and my grow is not for them to profit on.completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

Hello MrStoker, Since I hate having to write anything I don't have to on my phone (I'm generation of '68), I keep a journal by hand in a three ring binder with all my nutrient and other information.
I write down the amount of nutes and observations about how the grow is going, noting any problems as well as good stuff like, They started to get frosty on this week; the pistils began to turn color on this week, etc. I also make note of stuff I'm doing differently so that I don't forget what was working well.
I print out a copy of the information on the strains I'm growing and put it at the front of my entries on my grow like this:
GROW 8: KEEP TEMPS COOL IN FLOWER & use dehumidifier
NORTHERN LIGHT RQS cup winner 7-8 wks Med" THC 18%, CBD 1-5%
Northern Light S1 (Afghan x Thai?); Sat. leaf & inter-nodal distance
Cerebral and relaxing
TANGERNINE DREAM BF 1st HTCC 2010 7-8 wks Med" 23%THC, 1-5% CBD
Genetics: G13 x Afghan x Neville’s A5 Haze; Sat. dom.
Cerebral & phys. relaxing Can get tall
AFGHAN KUSH WoS cup winner 6-8 wks med" THC 20%+, CBD 5-10%
Genetics: Hindu Kush from N. Afghanistan.
My notes: harvested with milky/clear triches: very relaxing, soothing, cerebral.
O.G. KUSH RQS cup winner 8 wks 24-36" THC 19%, CBD 5-10%
Genetics: Chemdawg x Lemon Thai x Pakistani Kush; Ind 75% Sat 25%
Effects: relaxing physically with Sat. mental high.
Basically, I write down what I need to make note of. Then I go back through my most successful grows to try and learn what i did most successfully.Last edited by alltatup; 10-15-2018, 02:43 PM.Anyone can grow schwag. If you want to grow top shelf bud, study hard: https://www.growweedeasy.com

I tried a few of those applications out but they usually didn't provide for tracking the things I thought were important. So I just made my own spreadsheet that I use to track each grow. Attached is a screenshot of my latest grow kicked off last week.1 Photo___________________

They are working on it- I use the computer based one (mostly), so didn't know the apps were down.
I will be checking regularly as it's not on my new iPad- and when I can get it downloaded, I will post here! It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

Normally I just write my log down in a small notebook, but about a week ago I downloaded an app called "Jane" which let's me log watering, dates and events with a few clicks. Even has a function to store pictures and link them to dates etc. It also keeps track of what stage you're on "veg, flower etc".
